Progress Coffee + Beer

"Cool vibe to this off the track little coffee bar & bar. Parking can be a little limited. The building, interior and exterior, is very nice. Plenty of seating inside and HUGE covered deck outside (sorry I didn't grab a snap of that). Lots of outdoor seating by the 2 food trucks (pictured). We sat at the bar. Had a Marzapan Martini and a spicy Margarita to start. Both were delicious. Our bartender/server was Felishia(sp). What a great, lovely, and lively young woman. Had great suggestions. Had a couple of beers after that. Not sure what was up with the tap, but they were definitely NOT ice cold - reason for 4 not 5 stars. We live in South Austin, so the drive here was maybe? 10 minutes. We will definitely go again!"

"I learned of Progress last night, and visited today. I was not disappointed! Met a friend (& her young son) for coffee. The coffee drink options were delightfully named, and the drink menu was robust. I ordered the Camper’s Delight, and was thrilled about many details: the baristas took time to find the alternative milk that suited my allergen needs, the skewered marshmallow topping the drink was browned/warmed to perfection with a culinary torch, and the coffee was outright delicious! We started our visit inside, at a cozy little corner table, but continued our visit out back so our youngest group member could utilize the play equipment. The January morning grew increasingly cooler for us moms. But Progress had a basket of snuggly blankets ready for us to wrap up in as we sipped and chatted outside. The food trucks were opening by the time we finishing up our visit. I ordered a Taco Al Pastor for myself, and a Lamb Barbacoa taco to bring home for brunch with hubby. BOTH tacos were delicious and VERY reasonably priced. Service was fast, and the order was accurate. The heat level of the habanero salsa completely met with my spicy-loving-hub’s approval. Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. I will DEFINITELY be back for the coffee and atmosphere. I am, also, eager to come in for date night, and to sample the offerings of the bar. "Only been here twice, but was very impressed both times! Cute atmosphere, especially with the holiday decor and great drinks. The food truck out side Pueblo Viejo is also amazing! The pastor street tacos were so good."
