"We have been here twice and are huge fans of their omakase style eating! The sushi is fresh and hand crafted in front of you, Chef takes his time crafting every piece, you can tell this is his passion! We had multiple ‘firsts’ here such as the oysters, scallops, and uni, all were spectacular. The atmosphere is also very welcoming. The prices are on the higher end but it is 100% worth every penny, we will continue to come here for date nights and special occasions!"
"Today, Feb 1, 2024 is a lucky day for me! I was checking out this restaurant last night only to know that they are open for dinner only. BUT today when I drove past the restaurant, I saw the big banner hanging outside with the words “OPEN FOR LUNCH”! I was ecstatic!! The restaurant is pretty small. The largest group seating is for a party of 6. However, there are a good number of bar seating. The decor is clean and warm. The ambiance is good. The lunch menu is only one page with very limited choices. However, there are some special items on the chalk board behind the chef counter. I ordered chirsashi bowl with miso soup, and sashimi special with salad. The miso soup was ok. The salad was in 2 bunches of variable vegetables, seasoned in salt and pepper on top, and sesame dressing at the bottom of the bowl (salad wasn’t drench in the dressing). The sesame dressing was salty. Eating the greens with salt on top together with the sesame dressing was way too salty for me. I was then served the sashimi special which I throughly enjoyed. The crudo was kanpachi with Asian pear in ponzu sauce. The roll had king salmon in it. The salmon sashimi was lightly smoked, and the rest of the sashimi pieces were as per usual. After some wait, I got my Chirashi bowl. There were plenty of seasoned raw fish in the bowl. All the sashimi pieces were fresh and seasoned perfectly. I had some uni in my bowl too! The best item in the Chirashi bowl was the well-seasoned rice! There was some waiting time in between the courses despite only having 3 customers in the restaurant. But good things come to people who wait. So to me, it was worth the wait. I hope they will increase the lunch menu soon!"
"First time having Japanese inspired food and my overall experience was great. The atmosphere is very welcoming , the cooks and server were super nice and help with the food selection. My favorite starter was the brussel sprouts and I don't even eat brussel sprouts, but these were so delicious-- you must try them. The best roll is the Teo's Maki, the flavor is just amazing!! Of course, don't forget to try any of the selection of sake, they are all good!"
"So, my family and I recently checked out this new restaurant, and let me tell you, it was awesome! The place was running like a well-oiled machine, and the interior had this beautiful Japanese-style vibe going on. It was cozy, chill, and just perfect for a relaxed dining experience. But what really made the experience stand out was how friendly and attentive the whole staff was, from the chef to the waiters. They made us feel right at home and took great care of us throughout the meal. Now, let's talk about the food, oh boy! It was incredibly fresh and bursting with flavor. Each bite was like a little slice of heaven. I can honestly say it was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a while. Sure, the price was a tad higher than your average joint, but let me tell you, it was worth every penny. You could taste the quality in every ingredient. I mean, you really do get what you pay for. All in all, I can't recommend this place enough. If you're up for a memorable dining experience with delicious food, this is the spot for you!"
"We recently had the pleasure of dining at the newly opened Torii Japanese Inspired in Katy. Our visit was a delight from start to finish. The presentation of the dishes was so stunning that it was almost a shame to eat them. We had a variety of sushi hand-rolls, including salmon, spicy tuna, yellowtail, and whitefish, all incredibly fresh and flavorful. The wagyu beef, a highlight, was exceptionally tender and practically melted in our mouths. The atmosphere is not to be missed; it's both beautiful and cozy. The restaurant is impeccably clean, and the pleasant aroma sets a welcoming tone. The customer service was nothing short of excellent. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. They consistently checked in on us, promptly clearing used dishes and replacing every used napkin. The entire team made us feel truly special, with each member taking the time to ensure our needs were met. But what makes Torii truly stand out is the affordability. We ordered a variety of dishes and were pleasantly surprised by the exceptional prices. The quality of the food, combined with the reasonable cost, makes this restaurant a gem that won't break your bank. Having tried sushi and sashimi at numerous places in town, we can confidently say that Torii stands out. On a scale of 1 to 10, other places might score a 1, but Torii earns a solid 10. This is undoubtedly a 5-star restaurant. We recommend it to both locals and out-of-towners, and we're confident you won't be disappointed. It's an experience worth trying, and we practically guarantee you'll love it."
