"When I arrived in Taylor Texas for a four day work trip, I expected nothing much from a town I knew nothing about. Well, I was in for a surprise. La Scala welcomed me to Taylor with the best shrimp pasta that I’ve had recent memory. After having lived in various large cities, do not let this small town fool you! They know what they are doing. The waiter was professional and social and kind. His involvement in the town led to great interactions and taught me a good deal about how to spend my time here. I had only the pasta dish and I don’t want to say for certain, but I’m sure the pappardelle pasta was made in house. It’s texture and shape was perfection. The shrimp and crayfish tail were both high quality ingredients. The shrimp were large and had that perfect snap when biting into one. All of this was set in a delicious sauce that was hearty enough to feel like home but expertly balanced for those with a refined palette. I will be sure to visit La Scala again."

"We were torn between a 2 and 3 star review. The reason being, customer service is friendly, the food tastes good, and the food is always ready when we arrive to pick it up. The issue we have is the price for the small quantity of food that they serve. This time around we were appalled when we opened our takeout boxes of risotto and chicken and saw how SMALL the chicken was. It never used to be this small. We thought it was a joke. See photos of our meal that we uploaded. We’re getting more and more frustrated with businesses who are cutting back but charging more. Not cool and I doubt we will order from there again anytime soon."

"Great experience on a fine upscale eatery in Taylor. Interior ambience is exceptional. Drinks were great and food was delicious. Wait staff was ok for outdoor seating, could be better being there was a team standing behind the counter staring out into space. It’s easy to criticize when your not getting good service and people are visible idling around doing nothing. I’d have a different opinion if everyone was busy. From what I saw, if you want good service then I humbly suggest to be seated inside. One star less as our calamari took forever and when it arrived was cold. Seems it was forgotten about then rushed out when remembered. I’d definitely visit again though."
