"Had lasagna with Cesar salad. Looks like a very nice place. I thought the lasagna could be better. More cheese, more types of cheese. Many years ago one chef made a lasagna for me with 5 cheeses and nothing has ever gotten close. So I have been spoiled. Other reviews said they really liked the lasagna. Has better reviews than most but lunch was on the empty side."
"My family and I have been coming to this place for a little over two years. The service is always amazing - the wait staff is always attentive and makes sure drinks are refilled and nothing else is needed. The food is incredibly good, last night we had the gnocchi appetizer for the first time and everything including the sauce was perfect. I had the lasagna (blurry photo since I was too hungry ahhh couldn’t wait), and my gf had the shrimp scampi. Both dishes were cooked perfectly! Atmosphere is nice and quiet, perfect for a date night or causal family dining."
"We wanted to try somewhere new for lunch. They have a sign in front of the Art District stating they are stationed there but no sign at all anywhere else. We just assumed we were in the right place as it seemed to be the only restaurant. The atmosphere felt outdated and not very Italian. It feels a bit....bare. As for the food, I ordered the Chefs Special, which was ok. It was good in flavor but very saucy. It also had a clump of cheese in just one spot that made the linguini sticky and almost dry. My husband had the shrimp scampi, which was also very saucy/oily. It could have filled up a cup. The portions themselves are huge, especially for lunch. We also each had a Ceasar salad, and that was more parmesean cheese than dressing. It was almost like having a dry salad and a bit lacking in flavor. Altogether, it wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great. The service itself was good. There weren't many people there, maybe 2 other tables occupied, but the waitresses were very attentive."
"I'd wanted to try Bella Mia for several years, since the pandemic, back when they were located in Edinburg. I kept forgetting though, until an acquaintance recently recommended their chicken Alfredo, so we finally gave them a visit yesterday evening. The new location in McAllen is beautiful- lovely ambience & the Italian music playing was a nice touch. Staff was friendly, portions were generous, even just the bread & oil was heavenly. We enjoyed the Italian sausage appetizer, my husband loved his shrimp Alfredo, & my artichoke chicken was delicious! We will definitely be back, have already recommended Bella Mia to others, & will continue to do so!"
"Bella Mia is one of the best meals I’ve ever had. The buffalo breasts( or so) was really good, very tangy and has a bit of a kick. The ranch they serve with the appetizer is super small almost the size of the little ketchup containers that fast food locations have. The chicken parmigiana was delicious but it is huge, the plate has at least 2 filets. The Alfredo was really good. It has a lot of flavor in my perspective. The prices for these entrees/appetizers sure is really expensive that it ranges from 8.99-25$"
