"Wanna have some chilled beer with amazing desi food? Then this is the place for you! Located at 5th Element Brewing, this place offers amazing Indian street-food & snacks in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Definitely try out their street style noodles and mirchi bajji which were my personal favorites here. Been here multiple times, it generally gets busy on weekends and you can expect some wait for your orders. Has ample parking and seating options. Overall a nice hangout spot in Leander to chill out with friends in the evening and have some fresh indian snacks/food and Irani chai. Will go again to try their burgers next time!"
"Food truck ambiance is very good and it can accommodate large people, appetizer are very tasty, I specially recommend to try veg Manchuria..."
"Ordered 3 times from this place and one I did dine-in for breakfast so here is my review. Food taste is ok but quantity is way lot less compared to other Indian restaurants in leander. Pricing could be better for quantity offered as for same breakfast price of 3 idily you will get combo breakfast in DB World. Don’t ever order veg pulav quantity can be compared to kids"
"Amazing ambience and service. Best food truck I had in Austin!! The tiffins were really good. Loved Mysore bonda and punugulu. The street style fried rice and noodles were really amazing. It quenched my hunger for indo-chinese food that is very close to what I get in Hyderabad. Looking forward to more additions to the menu"
"Desi Hangout, nestled near 5th Element Brewing, offers a welcoming atmosphere with ample seating, a nearby brewery, and a cozy fireplace, making it an ideal spot to enjoy Indian street snacks in Leander. The Irani chai, while not quite authentic, provides a decent cup. The Mirchi Bajji earns top marks for its impeccable texture and flavor, a definite 10/10. However, the onion samosas seem to lack freshness, resembling frozen fare commonly found elsewhere. The veg cutlet disappoints with its greasy, soggy consistency, warranting removal from the menu unless quality can be assured. As for the chicken pakoda, though the coating is flavorful, the meat emits an unpleasant odor, hinting at possible hygiene issues. With adjustments to the menu and a focus on consistency and preparation, Desi Hangout has the potential to become a beloved Desi Hangout hotspot in the Leander area."
