Reviews of Prohibition Texas
"Great prices, easy to find. Service was excellent plus some of my group loved the cigar room which looked amazing but wasn't my thing. Enjoyable little place with a haunted upstairs."
"The drinks are good but the old fashioned is a little small compared to what I’ve gotten at other places. Prices are reasonable - fried pickles are amazing. The reason for the low rating was the service. Had a lady server who was great, then got a guy server and we put in order for fried pickles. He was socializing with some friends at another table, then 20 min later we ask about the pickles, he goes to check, comes back and shrugs his shoulders and proceeds to tell us sorry some other waiter got them but no worries, I’ll put another order in. He then goes back to socializing, and again , 20 min goes by and I ask to get the check and we can just cancel the pickles. He says oh they’re in the window- only looks over when we asked about it, and then boxes them and we try a few as he grabs the check. They’re cold, they were sitting there for who knows how long- dude was too busy socializing to even check, AFTER he already had to put in order again. I just wanted to get out at that point in time- and you would think there would be some sort of comp for the issues, but nope. He just said sorry and have a good night. If we go back again, we will make sure not to get him. Also- smoke smell is quite strong from upstairs as we were sitting near the bottom of the stairs. Either get better air filtration, or label your place as a cigar lounge and bar. No one who doesn’t smoke wants to smell it when they’re eating."
"My husband I were there this past Sat waiting for our tour. We arrived at 10:30pm and were not waited on for five min which is fine. We were not in a hurry, but noticed they were busy as they only had TWO VISIBLE EMPOLYEES. Our waiter was sweet and gave us waters. Upon taking our order, we ordered two drinks and we tried ordering a pretzel. We were told no food at 10:38pm as the kitchen closed at 9:30pm weekends and 8:30pm weekdays. The online hours for Sat were 12am. No worries, but when we got our drinks we were told last call and saw several people turned down while we were there. The whole vibe felt rushed, not the first time we felt this while being served here at this establishment which is a shame because the drinks and food, when available are good. The owner claims to have been there this night… were you really? Were you the one outside chatting it up with your employee who was off drinking beer outside? What we don’t understand is you have posted hours and yet we get there two hours prior to that and you have wait staff saying last call is at 10:38pm? It’s a shame because what we did get was good and you could have made more profit by sticking to your posted hours. Don’t serve food then if it’s not available during posted hours as well as your drinks since you are a bar."
"Awesome place! Great service and a damn good cocktail as well! Food is always amazing here. Love "whiskey Wednesday" happy hour! Try any old fashioned, you won't regret it."
