"I knew that I would find myself on the west side of town as I had an appointment at the Apple Store in Highland Village and then it was a question of whether I would treat myself to the delicious fish sandwich at Christie’s, or, go with a dosa somewhere along Westheimer. Well, I came across a review of.dosas and I opted for Kumar’s which is on the back side of a little strip center on Westheimer. You have to know to go around the back as Waze or Google maps doesn’t give you that clue. And I settled in with a dosa and a house soup called naatu koli. The food was wonderful; it had “soul. I am already dreaming of my next visit; in order to sample even more of their menu. . I really enjoyed the soup and the dosa. The ghee roast dosa was crisp, but had a “chew” and was how I like it. The sauce accompaniments were not salty. See photos."

"I loved chicken pallipalayam. Moderate on Parota and salna. Sambar vadai was decent. You can get good south indian dishes here. This time, I tried seeraga samba biriyani. It was average."

Overall, Kumar's non-veg thali is highly recommended for those looking to indulge in a satisfying South Indian meal."

"Great South Indian food and selection. Not too spicy and option to increase spice/hotness level. Staff is very attentive and provide excellent service/experience. Take your time to savor and relax here. Music is good and in the background so you can have a conversation without it disturbing you. AC is not too cold."
