"Usually they don’t disappoint but the last two times have not been the best. The order comes with dirty rice and I asked for white rice due to the Lenten season. Because of their misunderstanding I was told I should have worded my request differently because they understood I wanted to substitute the white rice for dirty rice. Duh the dish doesn’t come with white rice so ‘They’ misunderstood. The sauce was so salty that I couldn’t even eat it. The vegetables were burnt. The last time I ordered they didn’t have chicken mid afternoon. I feel like my concerns should have been handled more professionally especially since I’ve ordered quite frequently."

"Mix of Houston flair with New Orleans food. I said it before, atmosphere is not something I really worry about. It's the food. Gumbo Jeaux's did it's thing. I had the Lemon Pepper Catfish. Catfish was done with a good lemon pepper flavor. When I say the Lemon Pepper flavor was a bit strong I mean this in a good way. Lemon pepper is a common taste but too often not done right on foods like chicken or fish. Sides were vegetables and rice. Check it out and decide for yourself."

"Fried catfish and gumbo, look no more. It’s delicious and fresh. The atmosphere is perfect for comfort food."

"The food was really good. I gave a 4-star rating because of the catfish. It's not farm raised catfish, wasn't expecting swai. Other than that, the rest of the food was great."

"I would recommend this location for a lunch time visit. I came by this location as a result of a recommendation from the local hotel. We walked to this location and found the restaurant with a few people already seated inside eating...a good sign since it was lunch time. We immediately located the specials and the menu. A worker at the register spoke with us about the options available. We selected our lunch items and sat at a table to wait for our order number to be called out. We received the food hot and inspected out containers to see which one is our designated meal. I selected the fish with red beans and rice. My spouse selected the chicken and sweet potato fries. Both meals were great and on time. The workers were capable and worked well to get our order out. The line cook was outside on break and inquired if everything was ok. We said yes and we were happy to see the follow up by the worker/owner/interested party."
