"Loved the ambience of the restaurant. It felt like an old time bar with a diverse menu. The service was absolutely amazing. Our sever was super sweet and knowledgeable about the menu. We had some food come out cold and they immediately rectified the situation. Loved the oysters and the chowder fries. Ordered the dumplings as well but they lacked robust flavor. I would definitely return and recommend."
"I love a family style dining experience! You can try a bunch of different dishes and it's such a great way to bond over a meal. La Lucha looks like a casual place but feels upscale. You can see the kitchen from the dining area and there's also a large bar area inside. We made reservations, hence the feeling upscale, but it had enough availability if we didnt. Minor complaint was that the chairs are uncomfortable. I don't know if I could have stayed longer to hang out and get more drinks. Our server Shannon was so great at letting us know about the different food choices like between the smoked jalapenos or the Parmesan oysters (definitely get the smoked jalapenos). She was attentive without being constantly there. We ordered 5 things to share between 4 people and it was just the right amount of food. The amount of mustard in the deviled eggs was too much for me but everyone else loved it. Everything was flavorful without being too overwhelming. In addition to the deviled eggs and the oysters, we ordered the blue crab chowder fries (put some on your plate and spoon some shower over - the fries were really crispy so they could take the liquid without getting mushy); the sezchaun dumplings; and the scallops on skillet cornbread (the scallops were cooked to perfection!) There were other dishes i want to try so I will definitely be back. With 1 drink, the meal was $128 before tips."
"Fried chicken is nothing to write home about, cooked well but not seasoned. Pass on the crispy shrimp tacos too, not worth the money. Oysters however were very good. Would recommend coming during their happy hour just for them."
"We finally got to try La Lucha a couple of weeks ago and it was a very pleasant surprise! The service was top notch, my gluten free allergy was accommodated with issues and the food was beyond amazing! The family style set up is nice and it encourages conversation amongst your party. We tried the shishito peppers, fries (fried in beef tallow) with oyster Mayo, oysters on the half shell and fried chicken. Everything was made fresh upon ordering and the flavors were excellent. We'll definitely be back soon!"
