"This place was wonderful, but honestly, what made this the perfect night for me was the service. Our waiters name was Luis. Luis went above and beyond to make sure nothing had ginger in it for me. It's a very harsh allergy i have. He answered all my questions and even went as far to go look up what was in a sauce they had with their steak. He was on top of keeping drinks on the table, clearing dishes, and togo boxes. He was a waiter sneaky in the best way when he would put knifes, sugars and such on the table, you noticed he was doing it but it didn't disrubt anything. Luis has been the best waiter I've ever had, and I really believe he needs to be training the staff here. If nothing else, at least a raise. Luis earned these 5 stars. Luis made the night Thank you, Luis!!! Now That being said. The food was great!! I only have a few issues, but nothing, major. Now, I am a texture eater. This means a texture can make or kill a meal for me. I had a few texture issues, but the flavors were so good that it didn't matter. I got the goat cheese fondue served with sourdough. The fondue was heavenly, but i wish the sourdough had been a bit crunchyier, grill it a touch longer, and it would be perfect. I ordered the cheese chicken sandwich, and it really needed a crunch, be it something green like spinach, lettuce something to add a bit of crunch. Or again toast the bread a bit more. But the flavor was so good that I was able to slowly eat half the sandwich. Now, back to that sauce that Luis went and got ingredients for. It was a suace that was served with their steak dish. It wasn't a bad flavor, but it didn't match the meat. This sauce tasted like it belonged with seafood, not a steak. My husband and I think it's the combo of the vinagrette and hot sauce used. Maybe if one of those went, it would be better. But it was on the side and didn't affect the meal. Thank you for putting your sauces on the side, you guys!! Lastly, the whiskey cake needed more of the crema sauce. Like i wanted a cup of that to pour on this cake it was so good, and once i was half thru the slice, I had no more. And i think you took the carmalizing of the ingredients a touch far, and it affected the flavor a bit, but it was still really good The atmosphere was great. it was lightly lit and felt calm in the lighting, but the music being played in the background added life to the room. It was a loudge feel with an industrial touch. It was really pretty and very well done. The bussers were on top of their tables, keeping everything clean. This place is highly recommended."

"Edit: Whiskey Cake has an unbelievable manager. After seeing my original review, Robert promptly reached out and offered to make it right. My friends and I recently went back and the Smoked Old Fashioned were great! We ended up ordering a second along with appetizers, entree and dessert. Managers like Robert are rare. He handled the situation with grace and because of that, we will continue to support this restaurant. Original: I’ve always enjoyed the Smoked Old Fashioned here until last night. Instead of a single clear cube, my friends and I got a bunch of smaller cubes, which diluted our drinks. They were also too sweet. Could barely taste the bourbon so it wouldn’t have mattered if bartender used Woodford or Jim Beam. I expect this kind of quality from places like REVL but not from one with whiskey in its name."

"We were early for our reservation and sat at the bar while we waited. The bartender was very knowledgeable on bourbons which I appreciated and was able to put together a very enjoyable flight. Our dinner was amazing the food was very good and not overpriced. Our server was attentive and very good and recommendations and making sure we didn’t have to wait for refills. This is an absolute gem that we will return to many more times."

"We went to whiskey cake for a small birthday celebration and had such a fantastic time! Our waiter Ashley was top notch and attentive. My husband is from Washington state and likes tartar sauce for his fries, which is harder to find in Texas if you aren’t going to a seafood place, usually. He always shoots his shot though and 9/10 times places don’t have it on hand, understandably. He asked for tartar again for his fries and instead of receiving the usual polite “no”, a gentleman named Cannon took time to whip him up tartar sauce from scratch. My husband was completely blown away and said he has never been a place that did something personal for him like that. It was an incredibly fun and much needed night out, and well worth our time, effort and money. The food was delicious and so were our cocktails. The Brussel sprouts and candied bacon were heavenly & so were our entrees as well as the famous Whiskey Cake dessert! 10/10 and we recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and beautiful dining experience! "Third time going and every time I leave full and happy. It was my friend’s first time going and he was skeptical of getting the shrimp and grits but was pleasantly surprised and said “it’s the best I’ve ever had” so automatic 5 stars right there. I enjoyed the pork ribs. They fell off the bone and the lemon pepper glaze was delicious. I will be back a fourth time."
