"This is BBQ done wrong! This can't even be considered BBQ by Texas standards. Brisket without a smoke ring? Watch videos and they'll teach you to make better food. The Brisket had no flavor. Not salt, not seasonings, not even a smoke flavor. The chicken was finished cooking 4 hours ago but they continued cooking it and then served it to us. The sausage was horribly disgusting. I spit it out immediately. The skin was crispy but the inside was like mushy turkey burger. The beans and green beans were ok. Brisket fries had no flavor either. Not an enjoyable meal at all. Heed my warning y'all, drive further for better food."
"Have visited this BBQ joint off and on thru the years...really enjoy the food..."
"The SmokeHouse BBQ in San Antonio, Texas is a gem for BBQ lovers. Their menu is packed with incredible and great tasting BBQ classics, from mouthwatering brisket to finger-licking ribs. And let's not forget about their well-made sides, like the creamy macaroni and cheese. But the real star of the show is their chop buns. These hearty meats draped in a sweet sauce are a deal that cannot be beat. Trust me, you won't find a better BBQ joint in town."
"This place had the best BBQ at one time. Now is garbage I asked for a pound of wet brisket is was so dry even the bbq sauce didn’t help. Ordered two chicken quarters just as dry and very old looking. I guess they were low on bread cause they only put 4 slices. Potato salad looked like mash potatoes and no favor. Mac & cheese was so so. No picked or onions were given. Only the that tasted good was Pumpkin pie & pecan pie. What a waste of $56 on garbage. You can tell Larry and Mo no longer are the cooks. DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON Y HE IS GARBAGE. Will be calling the health department to check the quality of food"
"I have been here a handful of times and have had great experiences every single time. The food was very flavorful. All the food was pretty good but my favorite items were the sausage and sweet potato pie. The sausage had a nice tender texture and delicious peppered flavor. The sweet potato pie melted in your mouth and had an enjoyable marshmallow aftertaste. My husband's favorite item was the brisket. It was tender, flavorful and seasoned well. The staff was quick, helpful, and very friendly. The interior had a cute but simple, cozy, country feel to it. I will definitely be back again soon."
