"Visited the main staple of San Antonio after several years. They are locally owned, make everything in the restaurant, and have been around since the late 1970s. I had the chicken fried steak, with mash potatoes and green beans smothered in white cream gravy. We had ice-cold beer to go with the meal. Our server was Kristen, and she was on top of things and gave us excellent service. I DEFINITELY would recommend this place to others. Note, they are famous for their chicken fingers, mashed potatoes, and green beans covered in white cream gravy. This and an ice-cold beer are heaven. I hope your experience is as good as mine. 02/16/2024 Visited this establishment again and just had a good time. There were only 2 of us, one of us had the home made Chicken Fried steak, and I had my main staple, the hime made Chicken fingers you can't go wrong with either of these, especially with the sides and the cream gravy. If you visit, you might want to think about having a nice cold beer with your meal. I hope you're the experience as good as ours. I've attached a couple of pictures to show you the food we ate."

The pork chops were seasoned exactly right, the green beans and mashed potatoes tasted like grandma’s, the gravy was the best part, and the toast was perfect!!
