Chicken Express 24819 U.S. 281, San Antonio, TX 78258

"I paid $58 and some change for 25 pieces of chicken that were smaller than my palm (for reference my 11 year old son has bigger hands than me). The chicken was stale? Overcooked? Not sure how to describe it- old for sure. It was 7:30ish at night and they had "ran out of gravy for the night". It sounded to me that they didn't want to make more because they were "close" to closing (9pm close time?) so we got 6 free sauce cups. I ordered Mac and Cheese as a side and I think they forgot the Mac part because it's mainly cheese. I didn’t eat any but wishing the rest of my family luck that they don’t have a mess in their pants later. I ordered cream corn and they forgot to fill the cup to the top. Service seemed RUSHED. And slightly rude (ex. "Ok what else?"). All in all super disappointed in the food and the service. Definitely not worth $60."

"I ordered drive thru at this Chicken Express location for dinner. I hadn't been to a chicken express for a few years. Anyhow, the person at the speaker/window, I believe her name was Annie, was so friendly and answered all of my questions. We had a bigger order and sometimes big orders can come out soggy and/or cold. To my surprise, everything was hot and crisp. The chicken was delicious and the fries were so good, crispy and hot. We got the poppers , mac and cheese as well as biscuits. Everything was delicious and fresh! I will definitely come to this spot when wanting some fried chicken again. The food also came out fast which surprised me because another Chicken Express in a different town was pretty slow."

"Karalynn was great. We had a small issue with the corn on the cob, and she not only came up with a solution, but she brought it right to my table. Great job and jeep up the good work!"

"I really enjoy this chicken express employees are very friendly. The manager Caroline is very nice. When we come back food is always fresh and hot chicken is nice and crispy and still juicing. French fries made fresh to order. Coleslaw is delicious and cold. Tea is always very good here. I recently Tried to hush puppies and those are very good. I definitely recommend if you have not tried them to try them."

"This location isn't ideal due to the highway access road design. In multiple visits we have had extraordinarily dry chicken, likely from sitting under a heat lamp way too long, or being significantly overcooked. We really like Chicken Express, but this location has been a letdown both times we have tried it, more than a month apart."
