"Only thing having for this place was the view. Drinks are over priced and thought i was drinking a virgin margarita, the food presentation is nice but flavor lacks, service was slow toke 20mins to get waters. Only thing place has going for is the view. Will not return."
"This review is for the chips and salsa. Let me tell you straight up that they have some of the best chips and salsa in San Antonio! Easily! I couldn't recommend them more. If a rep for the resort or Cantina, please never change the supplier or way you make them. Send me a message if you do so I have a chance to set you straight. Beyond the obviously wonderful chips and salsa, the happy hour margaritas are a steal for $6!"
"Atmosphere incredible. Food very good, but not excellent. Tried four different tacos...the meat versions all tasted alike. The potato version was (surprisingly) the tastiest! Margarita was pretty good, but I've had better. Also was served in a plastic beer cup. Tacky. Staff was very attentive. Outdoor music for a private event was much too loud. Band was fine, but when they stopped, other music was deafening. I'd go again if just for the setting!!"
"The wife and I visited Primero Cantina Mexican restaurant for the first time today. First of all let me say that our waitress was excellent in everyway, we would be lucky to have such service at every place we ate at. She was the best part of our experience. Now the not so good. This is a Mexican restaurant correct, so why are the chips an additional $6? We were really hesitant about paying $6 for chips when this practice is definitely not the norm for Mexican restaurants. But, our waitress was kind enough to bring us a sample of chips before we made the purchase. The chips are not anywhere near worth $6 dollars in my humble opinion, they were so greasy and a lot of them were tiny bits of chips. The salsa was just ok. You receive 3 different kinds with the order of chips. Also, if you run out of salsa, you need to pay an additional $6 for more. Now for the main dishes, the wife and I both ordered chicken burritos. At first we thought they were pretty good, but soon realized our burritos were missing something important, the chicken. All we were getting in each bit was refried beans and rice. I decided to open up my burrito and have a look.inside, I found next to nothing when it came to the chicken, my burrito was full of beans and rice. So disappointed in this place, I mean for a $12 burrito. This place can't hold a candle to Chipotle, and that's the honest truth. Our waitress was kind enough to remove my burrito from the bill, but honestly I'm surprised they didn't comp our entire meal. My wife's burrito was the exact same. I didn't want to press the issue because I felt bad. I also wanted to see how they would handle the overall situation, and in my opinion they failed. They didn't even ask how my wife's burrito turned out. In any event we won't be back. I just wanted to share our experience."
"First off our waitress was amazing. She was so helpful and accommodating. The place looks really nice and clean and has a great view. Their menu is simple and to the point. Prices aren't too bad. I'm always a little baffled when Mexican restaurants don't offer complimentary chips and salsa. They charge $6 here for chips with sides of 3 different salsas. The salsas were good, especially the green one. However, the chips are greasy. They would be good if it weren't for this. Husband and I both ordered the burrito with shredded chicken. The burritos aren't bad, but they hardly had any chicken. I was beaned out after only eating half of the burrito. They ask if you'd like queso with it but just be aware that they will charge you additional for that. When we brought the lack of chicken to the waitresses attention they offered to fix things and ended up removing one of the burritos from our ticket and she told us at the beginning when she brought out the chips that if we didn't like them we wouldn't pay for them. The manager even came over and apologized about the burritos. The only reason we would go back is for the service and the view."
