"Honestly this establishment has been in a slow decline over the years. I’ll give them 3 stars because I’m loyal to the name. The service and food have gone down. The menu has lost some of its iconic items(corn flake chicken). Can’t even get a taco salad in a taco shell bowl. The atmosphere is the only thing that hasn’t changed. Guess it’s just a sign of the times…everything in slow decline."
"Food was good, my fajita was a bit under cooked . Kids loves their bean&cheese burritos as well as the burgers. Rice & beans were ok . Are server was very attentive & kind."
"Food was terrific. Sat in the bar and obviously put the bartender/waiter out. We were ignored the entire time. She had other servers bring us our food and even our check. Their Gratuity suffered unfortunately. Really wish we could have tipped those guys out instead. Oh well. Sorry for bothering you. We won’t do it again. 281 location from now on I guess. Not complaining just won’t make the same mistake twice."
"Kept having to ask for server and the server in another kept helping us out. We tried to be patient but the girl wa s just no where to be seen. The tables in other sections got their food before us despite the fact that we had been sat first. The other older gentleman was on top of his tables and kept getting us refills and even brought out our food. We usually don’t like to be negative but we wanted to get out of there. No manager to be found the host and that older gentleman were the only ones around helping everywhere’ . We did have to go the the bartender for refills a couple times. Food and atmosphere was great but when it came down to our server this visit was not customer centric at all."
"We've been to the Chuys in Austin and that was great food and service. But this San An location was just horrible. From the start, the red salsa was god awful...it was watery, bland & looked disgusting. The white ranch sauce was great tho. We ordered the boom boom pow dip which was $5. They misunderstood the order and we received a side of boom boom sauce and when we questioned, instead of bringing us the correct dip, our server brought us the missing items from the dip and we had to make our own nachoes out it (pic included). The dip would've been great if it was served as the menu indicated. Our entrees came out SO quickly. The steak burrito had the red chili sauce which contains meat. The meat on the sauce is so huge and chunky. The rice was old and sticky. The charges didnt make sense. A bean burrito is $10.49 & boom boom sauce is $1.50. Yet I was charged $12.49 for the burrito. I've included a pic of the "roasted" chkn. Firstly, it doesnt look seasoned with anything! Secondly, it looks pinkish white. When I asked our server to correct the tab, she proceeded to blame the kitchen staff saying "they dont speak good English" and she was asked to ring it in like that. Which doesnt make sense to us, how could they ask her to ring an item in like that if she only speaks English and they don't. We would've just appreciated fixing the bill, and not play the blame game. I'm sure the server made an error which is fine but to blame your kitchen staff over language barrier. When she came back with the fixed bill, she threw it on the table and continued to walk off. It was just such a waste of money for the nasty food we received and the total experience of it. This location has ruined Chuys for me. Last visit ever."
