Old House BBQ

"I chose several items from the menu because my sister was visiting and I thought I was presenting her with great food. I ordered the quesadillas, the nachos, and two pounds of ribs. My total was around $105 and I tipped $5. However, we found a wire inside the salsa while eating the quesadillas. Needless to say we will never dine here again. I’m pretty set on cooking my own food going forward. This was very scary and disappointing. I don’t know how to add the photo of the wire and my receipt and I don’t think it’s worth it to go back up there. My purchase was on Friday February 23, 2024. I’m so disappointed."

"Food is outrageous on price. The meats was dry and old tasting. Ribs was the most decent thing on my plate. Corn and Mac and cheese had no flavor. Green beans are to greasy on bacon drippings or something. Omg that bread was so old and dry we won't even talk about it. Customer service was great! I tipped and everything. I won't be back no time soon due to the food and prices."

"THE $19, 3-meat platter isn't enough to feed my 4 year old grandson. I'm absolutely amazed that they get away with this. However, after actually tasting it; it makes sense. Nobody would finish it all, anyway. It's cold, tough, and flavorless. The sauce tastes like it's mixed with dishwater, and I challenge anyone to eat more than one of their ribs without needing a break to rest their jaw."

"I enjoyed Old House. It was authentic TX BBQ with good flavor. I had the 2 meat sandwich special w/2 sides. I also added 3 pork ribs and had green beans and Caesar salad for my 2 sides. My favorite meats were the 1) pork ribs followed by the 2) jalapeno sausage. The 2 meats I selected for my sandwich were brisket and jalapeno sausage. The brisket was just OK. Not much of a bark or smoke/seasoning flavor as I prefer for a "craft" BBQ brisket. It seems they maybe rushed the cook a bit and didn't follow the tried and true "low & slow" 225 method? Or give it much rub? But it was still legit and worth checking out! They had 3 different kinds of sauce to try if you wanted. Regular, spicy and smoky. I'm not a huge sauce guy but I still like to check it all out. They were good but honestly, I could not taste much difference between them. They also had a nice condiment station with all of the typical accoutrements which is good! I always like to have some white onions with my Q and a few jalapenos and pickles are always nice too! As for the sides, the green beans were good but just very standard canned and heated variety. The Cesar salad was excellent!! It had what tasted like a home-made dressing and was surprisingly good for a BBQ joint! They also had beef ribs on the day I went but I did not try any. The counter guy told me they didn't always have them so maybe should have given those a try? There's always Next time! I'll be back to check them out again!"

"My son invited me to lunch and this boy can eat so I knew I was in for a treat. Old House BBQ does not disappoint! From the outside the place doesn’t look like much but hey it’s not the Ritz it’s a bbq joint so all good. The inside was up kept well with a very good selection to choose from. I had the three meat plate and my son had the loaded baked potato…we were stuffed when done! Food was really really good and priced well. Let’s just say I will return!!"
