"Taco Bell isn’t really Mexican food so we use to go there when we were desperate. Growing up in Southern California beginning in the 50’s, and raising kids through the early 2000’s, we always had plenty of AUTHENTIC Mexican food to choose from. When we moved to San In 2005, we discovered Tex-Mex. It was ok but not what we were used to. When we moved to the Alamo Ranch area, we tried MANY restaurants nearby but still none that stood out. Then a could have years ago we discovered Los Balitos. FINALLY authentic MEXICAN FOOD! They even made CALIFORNIA BURRITOS! These are fantastic. However, my wife usually orders their Taquitos & Crispy Beef Tacos, with actual SHEDDED BEEF, and I prefer their Chiles Rellenos. DELICIOUS! We also get the combination plates as their rice and beans are PERFECT. They have a salsa bar and we always fill up a bag of cold salsa, our favorite, using the individual plastic containers. 12 will fill the sack. It’s a small restaurant but WELL WORTH IT!"

"Updated review. I initially gave this place 4 stars. However the last few times I've been really subpar. The bean and cheese tacos used to be good but take a look at this one. Yeah literally no cheese and very little bean. On top of that the guy in the back wraps to Taco was part of the foil in the taco so when you open the taco you pull out half of your cheese. I guess it's back to Mama Margie's it is."

"I stopped in here for my breakfast tacos this morning. It’s a small taco shop and I’m definitely going to recommend this place for your bean and cheese with bacon tacos. There is no drive up window find a parking spot. I didn’t wait long, maybe 2-3 minutes at most for my order to get to me. I recommend their Arizona hot salsa. It has lovely heat that is not overwhelming. Inside was clean and orderly. I’ll definitely be back."

"This place hits the spot! We all have that spot that we used to go as in our youth. Mine was a Mexican place called betos and we would go there late at night with a bunch of friends after a long night of parties or events. And it always hit the spot. This has everything and more that betos was and I am stoked to find this place. Sauce stand featuring mild to fire spiciness, pickled peppers and carrots, chips, salsa. Pico de Gallo. I got the fried burrito. The beans are good. Can't wait to go back!"
