"A good friend told me about Jake’s. I was in need of a rebuild kit for a 4l80e. I called Jake’s and got my stage 2 kit. I had questions along the way they were very helpful in answering them. It was my first time rebuilding a 4l80e. Watch some videos and follow the upgrade paper instructions that came with the kit and we got it done. The transmission performs extremely well. I highly recommend Jake’s performance transmission!!!"

Apparently they are understaffed.. my wait times changed from each person I talk to .. went from week's to a few months still no converter Don't blame us buyers for expecting a product in a time frame you tell us better yet say I don't know when we can have one built that would better suit your operation."

"Called the owner to discuss a transmission build...He has 0 idea what he's talking about. he was talking about a OEM 4L80E case being to take 2000Hp without issue and it being perfectly fine to run single piece case (built in bellhousing) at the drag strip without a SFI rated bellhousing...This guy is flat out dangerous making claims like that. Avoid him at all costs. Look him up on a few drag racing forums, I'm glad I did his name is dirt"

"Terrible experience and horribly long time frames. Two years i have dealt with this nightmare only to be belittled by Jakes. You're going to be told time frames that they never keep. Check out the forums of how he treats customers with questions. Jake doesn't own up to his problems . Received 1 performance stage 3 4l80e from Jakes that turned out to be put together wrong. They put the wrong pump in it. The second one i received as a replacement, the torque converter had discs in it backward and other mismatched parts. Yep, you heard me. Two transmissions that had wrong parts and wrong assembly. One of the transmissions put my family in danger by not correctly working right because it had incorrect parts in it and wouldn't engage reeves reliably. He's supposed to be the best, but I have found it to be the exact opposite. This process has cost me $4000+ on extras."
