"Fantastic Mexican food. A true Brownsville treasure. Barbacoa is impeccable, very tender and moist. Flour tortilla sobaquera is excellently done. Great texture and taste. Habanero salsa is flaming hot but has flavor also. Great service with a welcome cup of a coffee refill. Banda Norteño on the stereo to entertain with passionate singing waitresses."

"I took a party of 8 to eat for the first time. My friend accidentally spilled her coffee which already was prepared with sugar and cream on her plate. We asked the waitress and she asked manager/owner about replacing her plate. We were ordered another one but we were charged again for it. So becareful in having a accident eith those slippery new tables and ur coffee cup. Dona Carmens should of at least charge 1/2 price on that second plate. Great breakfast and price."

"This morning, I had the mini menudo special with 3 corn tortilla barbacoa tacos. Menudo was a bit on the over seasoned side. Cilantro could have been a little fresher. Staff very kind and polite. When I asked a brief description of several dishes, I was very satisfied with information provided by server. This place has a very assorted menu with a variety of breakfast and lunch/ dinner dishes. Would like to come back and try the seafood platters."
