"1st if all, I am very critical of Mexican and Tex Mex food. Along the 281, there are a lot of places to eat called Jalisco or El this or that. I will go off the Expressway to eat here. This place is a gem in Alice. Do yourself a favor and come get these amazing homemade tortillas, the chorizo beans with chips and salsa and of course great Mexican food! I had a Fiesta omelet and papa Ala Mexicana and the potatoes were delicious. A lot of places mess up the la Mexicana surprisingly. Not El Charro. Thanks for delicious lunch on our way home."

"I mean, enchiladas verdes are the same everywhere. Right? WRONG. Holy hell these were PERFECT! Sauce was obviously completely homemade and had the perfect level of heat. Shredded chicken was delicious and the whole dish was bomb diggity. Margarita was not from a mix and was just the right blend of strong, tart, and sweet. This is a can't miss"

"This restaurant is nicely decorated and the really put emphasis on colorful wall murals depicting Mexican small town scenes. The spaces looks a little crowded with heavy furniture. Each chair is decorated with a painting on the back. The food we ordered was very good and attractive to the eye. The menu is extensive and varied. The portions were large. The service was friendly and diligent. I would definitely come back on our next visit to Alice. Areas of improvement include the lighting in the bathrooms. They’re not well illuminated and that makes the bathrooms awkward and suspicious of their cleanliness."
