"I was looking for a place to study and found this small but comfy place on Cupples. The owner is welcoming with a diverse selection. They opened in September and I commented on how long I'd been waiting for a coffee place on the Westside, he replied with how important community was for him. His actions speak louder than words since he resources his products from local businesses! Lastly, the empanada and Cafe de Olla were delicious. Bonus points: - Wifi - Christian - Small-local business"

"Come here, enjoy the incredible IN-HOUSE ROASTED (!!) coffee, get some work done in their comfortable lounge WITH WIFI, eat some empanadas, and tell the man that he needs to raise his prices. Seriously, value for the price is unbelievable. Unbeatable in San Antonio. Good people, great product, and a noble brand ethos."

"I quite enjoyed my lunch here! I got the Monte Cristo empanada and a matcha latte with horchata milk. Both were delicious and reasonably priced. I rated 4 stars bc currently, there is no menu available to peruse, so it's kinda of strange to order. But the owner informed me that it was in the process of being made so hopefully it will be up soon! Also, the lounge area didn't have any music so it seemed quiet. Overall, will come back again, especially since it's so close to my work and the owner was so hospitable and friendly."

"I was in the area and decided to try out a new coffee shop. Philos did not disappoint! I tried a hot coffee with Mexican hot chocolate and their iced cold brew. The staff was really sweet and the man who helped me out was very informative about the coffee options. They have meat empanadas and pastries as well. If I hadn’t already ate, I would have tried an empanada. I will definitely be back to try the birria and barbacoa ones!"
