"I feel like owners , John and Dusty are like family. They have all you need for your pool , stop and see them for existing pool needs or if you're looking to install a new pool in the spring."
"Seems dishonest and lacks accountability for poor work ethics. Customers aren't always right, but character is key...so I follow by character not complaints per say."
"If I could give a negative rating to these people, I would. Worst business I've ever had to deal with. They are crooks! Want the money up front and never came and did their job. Been dealing with them for 2 1/2months and our aboveground pool is still not open. We're now in July. Talked to John and they said they did everything and we can't have our money back. Our pool still looks like a pond. I do not recommend them at all."
"We went through recreational installations for our pool And our privacy fence and are concrete. They done an amazing job. They were very professional and timely. They did take there time and get things just how we asked for! With heater and specialty pool and fence they done a wonderful job for us. Thanks John and crew. We go to him for all supplies and maintenance needed. They are awesome!"
"I wanted to write a review to hopefully help inform someone who is needing a pool contractor and considering Recreational Installations. I contracted John and his crew in April of 2018. When we signed the contract in April, John informed us we were the second pool in line to be installed that summer and that he would most likely start the first week in June. He told us that it would take two weeks for the job to be completed pending no unforeseen delays. About mid May I reached out to John, as I had not heard anything from him since the day we signed our contract. I asked if we were still on schedule and he said yes. I asked him when he planned to mark the pool off and he said he could get to it that week. He came that week and marked it off. That Wednesday, of the first week in June I still had not heard from John. I called him and asked when he planned to start. He said they were a little behind and that they should start it next week. Next week came and John called me and said they were still behind but his crew would be out there the following Monday to start it. I really wasn't bothered by this as he was in communication with me. I did however ask again how long it would take and he told me, again two weeks pending no issues. So at this point I was already two weeks behind what we had planned, but things happen. It wasn't that big of a deal. John and his crew started that Monday and dug the hole fairly quickly and got it shaped up. His crew would then show up intermittently for the next two weeks. This is when we began to get frustrated. John would tell us his crew was coming and then simply not show up. To John's credit he did answer the phone nearly every time I called, but he would seemingly just lie to me on the phone; I felt like he would just tell me what I wanted to hear. Two weeks came and passed and concrete still had not been poured, the pool bottom hadn't been finished, the pumps hadn't been installed, the heater wasn't there, and the grading wasn't done. I had a large hole it my yard and no fence up even though I was told RI would provide a temporary fence. John would say the rain was causing issues or that he had other clients that were more pressing. Which was shocking to me as we had discussed when we signed the contract that he wouldn't put other clients in front of us and that when our pool was up to install it would be their priority. It did rain during our process but there were plenty of times for his crew to work. We had family coming in from out of town the end of July and we really wanted the pool finished by then. After all, we were told it was a two week process and they would start the first week of June. We thought the last week of July would be no problem. Our pool was not completely finished until the first week of August. It took nearly two months from when they started it. Not two weeks. Which would have been fine, had they just told us that up front. John was not truthful in regards to how much concrete we would receive at the end of our pool either, but in his defense he did make that right when we challenged it. He also tried to charge us twice for a sidewalk we had them pour, and if it hadn't been for the signed contract he would have charged us for it. Overall, the guys that installed the pool did a pretty good job and the price was pretty great. If you could care less how long its going to take, RI may not be a horrible choice for you. I would not recommend them to anyone though. We were lied to throughout the process and promised deadlines that were not meant and were nearly charged twice for concrete. Our overall experience was not a positive one. If you Google John Brown from Recreational Installations you can see he doesn't have the greatest reputation either. It's tough to say though, as you never know the full story sometimes. I can only share my experience. There are some negative comments about the girls in store front, I did not ever experience that. They were always helpful. I hope this review was helpful :)"
