"DISGUSTING. The smell of this place alone is enough to not leave an animal here. As well as the unkept place area outside and building itself. There is also a bed right once you walk in and it isn’t even put together. Would never recommend this place. I was only able to sit in there for three minutes while my dog got his nails clip. The new owner and the dog groom are obviously unable to properly muzzle a dog. The muzzle was in my dogs eye and they told me it was fine. I will never suggest this place again. There are so many better places to go!"
"We sent our fur baby for a few days and as well had her groomed. They were so compassionate, caring and loving for our lil Sadie Michelle Marie. She still smells amazing even after a few weeks since her visit. Im more then impressed with Arf Arf, and I HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY!!! WE ARE DEFINITELY GOING TO BE GOING BACK."
"Our dogs stayed here about 6 months ago and had an amazing experience. I love my dogs like they are my children and Art made sure to help my anxiety with leaving them as minimal as possible. I even sent him a few texts while I was gone just checking in and he responded with pictures and updates. When I picked them up they were both clean and happy. I was truly very very happy with our experience here."
"RESPONSE TO OWNERS REPLY: A year ago or 10 years ago, the public still has a right to know what they are getting, and as a consumer I take that responsibility very seriously especially when it’s dealing with leaving your loved ones in a strangers care. I don’t know what your policy is now; however, I can assure you that my dog was left out in the heat of the day as I worked at the hospital right down the street and would pass by on my lunch between 1 and 2pm each day and my dog was outside, as well as, after work at 5 she would be outside. So please don’t try to dismiss my experience as I have no reason to make this up. As far as the expressing of glands, this is NOT a required treatment for dogs, as a matter of fact many veterinarians says it’s not recommended. My dogs diarrhea was a direct result of that treatment, which was given to her just hours before I picked her up for an 8 hour car ride. AND groomers are not encouraged to perform this treatment themselves. Nonetheless, this is a treatment that should have been granted permission from the dogs owner prior to performing. Also, I spoke with the owners right away about this incident. This post is not a year later response as you implied. ORIGINAL POST: My dog was boarded at Arf Arf for one month while I worked in Terre Haute. When I picked her up she was extremely sick and had dirreaha. I drove 8 hours with a sick dog who eventually pooped all over the back seat. My dog is a house dog which I informed them yet my dog was left outside from 7am to about 2 or 3pm in hott June. Her legs were severely eaten by something and she was apparently attacked by another dog and had a skin deep wound on her head where the hair was no longer visible. I was so disheartened to see my dog in this condition. On top of that I asked the owner to bathe my dog the day before I picked her up because she was so dirty from being outside her coat was very discolored. The owner told me that he would "wash the dirt off of her" which I appreciated. When I went to pick her up I was charged $65 for grooming that I didn't request. First off my dogs type doesn't require grooming and if a bath is $65 I feel like I should have been informed before providing such a costly service. They also gave her a bowel treatment without my permission which is why she was so sick and pooping everywhere. My experience was not a good one. The owners were kind people but business is business and my dog is my baby and I entrusted her to them and they did not provide quality service. I feel awful because now I have no idea what all my dog endured. If I find pics I will come back and post them. BTW: thus ya the second time I am posting this. They apparently deleted my initial post."
"The people I trust with my dog when out of town. Art, Jim and Katie are great. Plenty of other dogs to play with under staff supervision. Thanks to Arf Arf, I have a much happier dog."
