"I love this place! And more importantly, my dog loves this place! They are great with him, they know him by name, and he's always so happy to get here. And he comes home exhausted, which is nice!"
"Clean facility, lots of space for the dogs to play, caring staff. Dogs are separated into play groups based on their size, age, and/or energy level. Proof of updated vaccines required. Staff posts pictures and videos on social media so you can see the dogs having fun. Daycare, overnight boarding, baths, and nail trims available by appointment."
"Unfortunately, I feel compelled to write a review of our experience with Downtown Dog, Jasper. We had high hopes....this place was recommended by our vet. I filled out the form online, to which I did not receive a response. So I called a few days later to inquire about having our puppy in puppy daycare. The person I spoke with said to bring her the following day. Apparently the registration information was not in their system at the time we arrived. Fine, I understand that things fall through the cracks. But I SPECIFICALLY made sure when we dropped our dog off that they had my phone number in case there was a problem. The young girl (they all appear to be teenagers at this place) at the front counter said I could contact the vet and have the vaccination records sent over. (I had discussed the vaccination schedule with the person I had spoken to previously--this didn't appear to be an issue at the time.) Well, I left and came back four hours later to find out that they had left our puppy ALONE in some back room (with access to outside....or so I'm told, I didn't see where she was) for four hours. Maybe not a horrible thing to have happen, although I'm sure she was scared, there are barking dogs at this place. BUT, she was panting when we arrived so she was in the summer heat and when she got home she drank like a sailor arriving in dock -- I don't believe she had access to water that entire time! Her paws were dusty from the gravel, I imagine and she seemed stressed. When I asked why they did not contact me (the beef I have with this place) the responses were, "well, we were really busy today...." and "the owner is really busy, she has two babies." OK fine, then hire someone responsible to fill in for you when you are not available. I shudder to think what might happen if there were a medical emergency at this place. These doe eyed teenagers don't seem to think quickly on their feet, or be able to manage a phone call or text, either. Also, when we arrived to pick our puppy up, there were three dogs looking through the window of one of the rooms. They were barking and looked bored and stressed. I don't know the circumstances of what was going on on the other side of the wall inside, but I don't think these dogs were having a very good time. At best, it seems they were learning to bark from one another. Overall, I'm VERY disappointed. I just hope that nobody has a bad experience at this place that results in a dog getting hurt, or emotionally stressed with lasting effects. These kids don't seem to have any clue about being responsible, even to the extent of making a routine phone call. I hope that someone a bit more mature was on the premises, but I didn't see any evidence of that. In a nutshell, I wouldn't feel safe leaving my dog there again. They should have contacted me immediately once they made the decision not to allow our puppy to interact with the other dogs, not leave her alone for four hours without access to water."
"Our dog Sadie had a great first day at Downtown Dog. They would post videos of her on their Snapchat group and the staff stayed in touch with me throughout the day so I knew she was okay. They also gave me a report at the end of the day. Price is reasonable. We will definitely be back!"
"Downtown Dog is an awesome place that provides a great service. You can tell how much they care about fur-babies. :) We were first-time, nervous boarders, but they do allow tours of the facility so you can see where your dog will be staying. We were gone on a ten-day trip, and it was so much fun checking snapchat for p-updates on all the daily activities. At the end of the stay, your dog also comes home with a report card on how they behaved."
