"A stunning library to be sure, one of the best I've seen throughout the nation. The stunning architecture and splendid designs really captured my attention. However, it simultaneously runs into the issue of being too public and private. As a practical library, it does a rather poor job with limited spaces and considerable tourist run through. The upper levels also serve only as decoration, being too private as well. Although I don't like it too much as a library, I think it does a fantastic job as a tourist must-see and event center, which still captures a different demographic of 5 stars."
"I went to study it was a good place. Not many people definitely would go to experience the beauty of the library. Everyone at the help desk were very kind."
"From what I understand, this library is a part of The John Hopkins Institute so it's primary use would be directed to the students however, visitors are aloud to see the inside of this institution of learning & education, it really is one-of-a-kind with the way it was designed from top to bottom it appears incredibly flawless! As a visitor, I was restricted to the first floor ultimately however, I was AMAZED with The Life & Passion of Ethel Ennis & The Peabody Library!!!"
"Often said to be one of the most beautiful libraries in the country, it's worth a visit. Paid street parking is easy to find nearby. Open during the day every day except Friday and Saturday, walk inside. When you see the check-in area, go left for a little exhibit space and the door to the library. It's very large with stunning design. You can't go up any stairs so stay on the ground floor, keeping quiet out of respect to the people studying."
"Beautiful historic library right in the gorgeous Washington monument cobblestone square. Only the ground floor is open to public access while the other floors are reserved for researchers and JHU students. The main room of the library has the world famous ballroom view and a handful of tables all around available for visitors to study at. There are also adjoined connecting rooms that lead to the Peabody institute, reserve rooms, or gallery-like exhibits of the history of the place. There is limited street parking in front of the building, but more around the corner in the mount Vernon district. The place is a short walk away from all the other cafes and attractions of the iconic art district. Limited space for studying for worth stopping by"
