Old South Barns, timber frames, post and beams 4550 West Lee Street, Dawson, GA 39842

"Unfortunately I have to write this negative review. Old South Barns built our horse barn in 2018 and also the barn doors. The barn doors are already rotting and falling off the barn. Come to find out the wood used was not appropriate for exterior use. We called Jesse to inform him the barn doors were already rotted and falling off the barn and was told we aren't coming back and wood rots outside. There were also problems with barn itself. Non-pressure treated wood was used for the bottom plate. Flashing was not used around the windows and sliding glass door in loft. Where flashing was actually used there was at least one nail hole through it. About 40% of our windows leak. At first we were told it was condensation and when I said that seems unlikely since it is specifically around the windows I was told I bought faulty windows. The loft of our barn is so messed up we are having to tear the siding off, add sheathing and window/door flashing and reside it. It is my experience that this company will not stand by it's work. You probably would be OK using this company if it was a pole barn for equipment storage that wasn't enclosed, but I would NOT use Old South Barns use if you are trying to build a horse barn with a loft, barn doors, or anything with an enclosed space such as a cabin."
