"Just got Ladubug about an hr ago. The process was super fast and she's absolutely sweet. She already has a new bed, collar and clothes lol. She will be spoiled just like her new sister."
"Was bit by a dog we adopted from them and they acted like it was our fault. First thing first they were even scared of him because he showed aggression. He almost bit the humane society officer when she was giving him his chip. I do not blame him for being like that at all he was in a messed up home before. But I do blame the humane society for not trying to help him be more comfortable around humans, while he was in the shelter they had him in quarantine. The police lied about not pepper spraying him and I have proof. Humane society said it wasn’t pepper spray when I showed them the pictures. But I have confirmed with plenty of other people who carry pepper spray that it indeed was something of pepper spray or Mace. They acted like he was scrapped up like road rash the last picture I have with him right before he bit me he had no road rashes. I’ve sat on this for a second because never in my life have I experienced this. But I drive 4 hours there and back for this dog multiple times trying to get him more comfortable so for them to act like this I’m furious. Everyone in my family knows I am a huge animal lover. But I am very upset about how this humane society handled this whole situation really made me not want to adopt from a humane society because I felt helpless I just lost the dog I’ve been waiting for months and now I’m being blamed it was my fault and I couldn’t adopt. This was a terrible experience. And I would not want anyone to ever deal with this. Do not recommend."
"I don't want to say don't adopt from here because these animals need to be rescued, but be prepared. The facility was horrible smelling and depressing. I don't even want to know the condition of the animals, but I have an idea, as there were two sad-looking dogs in a cage in the "meet-and-greet room." We went to meet our dog, and they said we could take her that day. We were not really ready to bring her home right away, but no way we were leaving her there. They did not even provide a collar for her - just handed her over. She was filthy, and they did not deworm her, which we found out when she ended up having tapeworms. I thought deworming was standard at shelters? I had to contact them to find out what flea/heartworm meds they gave her since they did not put that on the paperwork. They said they would not give her the rabies vax (a requirement for my apartment) until she was spayed, which would not happen until three months later. We tested, vaccinated, and spayed her at our own expense rather than go back there. Fortunately, she is happy and healthy now, but it cost us a lot of money. I understand that shelters are in critical situations right now, but there has to be a way to do better. In the end, it was all worth it because we love our dog, but the adoption experience was very different than other places we've adopted from (VHS and Warrick HS), and we probably won't adopt from there again."
"I adopted a cat. They were very nice and kind. The cat area was very clean and nice, All the cat seemed to be very happy and healthy. Here a picture of my cat. Thank you to all the staff for your kindness. Also I want to thank them for Saturday she was sick not eating took my baby back down there and to see if could give me some avise, they immediately called a veterinarian and she got her right I they seen her and took care of her. And the shelter pick up the medical cost. Thank you very much she is much better and healthy and happy. Great place."
