"This has truly been a terrible experience. When I was referred in August, I was told to expect a phone call by 9/11. That phone call never came. Spoke to my therapist and she was told they lost all their patient information and referrals during the switch. At that point, I need serious help. Was on no medication and they were just dilly dallying around. It wasn’t until mid October that I actually got a phone call to schedule an appointment. At that point, I went somewhere else temporarily for help. I needed to make an appointment 60 days from my temporary help. Well, I’ve called over and over. They do not answer when I call, and when they do call back I can’t answer. Some how they have my mother’s info, not mine and keep trying to contact her. NOT THEIR PATIENT. I’m an adult and have been over 18 for many years. I feel like this is a hippa issue. She should not be receiving information about me, when I can’t even get information about my care. I am now at the point that I am withdrawing from my medications. I am back to where I was last August. I truly don’t know how psychiatry can do this to their patients. another issue (that I did not have prior to the switch) the provider they had me seeing, doesn’t work Friday. That is currently my only availability. So of course this is my issue, I need to fix, not theirs. Edit: 2/16/24. After multiple phone calls back and forth, I thought I had the issue resolved. I have explained to them multiple times, I have a new job and I’m only available Fridays. I can not request off at this point in time. They keep offering virtual appointments. I am not guaranteed a lunch at a certain time, as I work in the health field. You eat when you eat and it might only be for 5 minutes. Apparently this is new information to them. Anyways, after multiple phone calls, they agreed to switch my provider due to the conflict. I was supposed to have an appointment at 10 am. They called me at 9 am to tell me, I can not keep that appointment because it’s with a different provider. So again, I explained to them why I need a different provider. That they told me, they already had this approved and I needed my medications refilled. I did not get to keep my appointment and I’m REQUIRED to see the original provider. The front office person, then asks me what meds I needed refilled. I told her, and her response was “you need all of that refilled?” Yes, clearly something is wrong with me and you’re denying me an appointment that you told me I could have. I have now been without medications for 3 weeks. And they wait until an hour before to change their minds. I’m just baffled at this point and informed them I will be finding a new office. This has been a continuous issue since August."
"The transition from Franciscan Health to Meridian Health has been a disaster. Appointments cancelled with little to no notice, records lost, can't ever get anyone on the phone, medications refills going unfilled. I finally called my daughter's PCP to see if they would take over her medications until we find a new psychiatrist. I would give Meridian Health zero stars if I could."
"I share the same frustrations as all the others here. Cannot get them to return my call request for prescription refills nor to make an appointment with a new doctor. My previous psychiatrist (he was excellent!) has moved out of state. I finally, after several calls to different numbers they provided online, was able to talk with someone who indicated she would (snail) mail a new patient form… it’s been a week…still no form. It’s ironic that people in need of mental health services are being ignored."
"I went into the office after a month of calling them and recieving no call backs about getting my rescue medication filled. Not only do they no longer have my medical information, but they don't have -anyone's- medical information/appointments/prescriptions. They aren't calling back because they are too embarassed to admit they have nothing and your mental health care plan is basically gone. If you have the option, I honestly would not trust them with your info or to get back to you in a timely manner about anything. St Francis and Meridian should be ashamed of themselves for the pain and distress they are putting people through after they blatantly lied in their little 'patients do not need to take any action during this smooth transition' note in the mail."
"Got called on the day of my appointment to be notified my appointment had been canceled. This is a new transition from my other provider. The lady that answered the call said how did we call you we have no information on you. I played back the message. Oh well here in your information. Of course I am on medication. My appointment today was for my refills. So I asked who would be refilling my medication. She said no one. Until we see you we can't do refills. Um I had an appointment for today for that. I said so I am just going to have to withdraw from my medication. She said I kid you not if it gets to bad go to the ER. So your telling me to withdraw from medication and if it gets to bad go to the ER? Yep. And you are my new mental health provider? This is an absolute joke. I wouldn't even give one star but I had to give something."
