"I typically only write good reviews, but this is a case where I just have to share my disappointed opinion so that others do not find themselves in my place. I hired Mr. Sturm a little over a year ago. I found that it was difficult to get a response from his office for months, and my family encouraged me to reconsider my attorney choice. They felt he was “not interested” in my case. However, I had read all of the excellent reviews online, and had been referred to him by another top attorney in town. When I finally was able to reach him, I voiced my dissatisfaction/concerns, to which he sincerely did apologize and offered me another form of contacting him. This was enough to make me think maybe I just had too high of expectations/we are all human and get busy etc. Things went smoothly for a couple months, appearances were going as well as I would assume they should, money was being spent quickly on attorney fees, the normal...suddenly it became impossible to get in contact with him again. And when I say impossible, I mean that I actually began wondering if he was still alive. Not even a joke, I checked the obituaries! Each time I would speak to his legal assistant, she was always friendly and polite, but my messages were never returned or acknowledged by my attorney. All of this was occurring while I am in the middle of a very messy, emotional, super long custody battle. My invoices had all been paid. Then abruptly (after all my emails and phone calls had gone unanswered for months) I received a letter in the mail stating he would be withdrawing his representation in my case. I personally feel that was something that deserved a phone conversation, as a professional courtesy. When I did call the office (twice) to inquire, I was still left hanging. Now I will need to hustle to hire a new attorney, after thousands upon thousands have already been spent. I also inquired multiple times about $3500 in legal fees that had been awarded in my case, which also received no reply. I apologize to Mr. Sturm for having to write this review, as I would have liked to speak personally and professionally about it, but since my phone calls never could get through to you, I think it is an honest opinion of my experience that will hopefully be considered as a cause for improvement in future dealings with clients."
