"Never had a problem with the company & the staff is A ok with me."
"Water is terribly expensive and service is awful. What would be $12 in other districts is $50 here . Guess the yarn plant didn't pay off so now we foot the bill"
"I set up a business account with them and never received a bill due to the mailman not delivering mail to our mailbox because it was a new address. After not receiving any bills from any of the utility companies I decide to start calling so I can figure out the balance, pay the balance, and set the bills up on autopay. The utility companies told me that the mail was being returned and that’s why I haven’t received the bill. Of course I had a late fee on both the power and water since I wasn’t aware of when it was due because of not receiving the bill in the mail. Alabama Power credited me back the late fee and was able to help me set it up on auto pay so I don’t ever have to worry about a physical bill in the mail again and possibly missing the payment. Wetumpka Water Works on the other hand showed absolutely zero grace and said it didn’t matter that the bill had been returned to sender that I was still liable for the late fee. Now granted it was only around $4 which isn’t making a dent to in anybody’s bank account however it’s still the principle of the matter that they are unwilling to show any grace on a situation that I had no control over. If there was another water company I would be switching immediately. The staff could have handled the situation a little better and at least shown some empathy while still enforcing policy but instead she decided to be very rude about it."
"Tried to fill our pool. The pool was leaking and we didn't know it. Once we figured that out, we stopped trying to fill it. And we, expectedly, got a large bill. Someone at the office told my wife that they would work with us on the bill. 30 days later, we're shut off because we still have a balance due, despite making payments toward the balance. "We don't see any payment arrangements on your account..." Ok. Why didn't the person who told my wife that they would work with us put something on our account? "I don't know". My wife goes back up to the office to work out payment arrangements, only to find out that they don't do payment arrangements for pool fillings... Which means after the pool is fixed, I need to save up a ton of money before I can try to fill it again. But that's fine. The problem is that we were lied to. We were shut off thinking everything was fine. After all, I was making payments. Now I have a reconnect fee, and a house payment to figure out how to pay now, just so I can get my water turned back on. They seem friendly at first, but then they've got you where they want you. Don't believe anything they say!"
"Wetumpka Water Works has always been a pleasure to work with. I've never had any issues with my bill and I've lived in this small town for four years. They do their billing towards the end of the month, so around the 29th, 30th or 31st (if there is a 31st in that month) of every month you can go by there office and pay your bill. Hell, you can even call them and pay your bill over the phone. Yes, they're paper bills do show up a week or two after they completed their billing cycle. However, if you know when their billing cycle ends and you're that concerned about paying your bill on time, go by their office or give them a call. The staff is very friendly, I've never had to deal with a rude customer representative of the Waterworks. Hope my five stars helps you out cuz damn guys 1.3. Give out more suckers! :-)"
