"Steve is a truly genuine guy and is very passionate about music. My beginner band student damaged her Yamaha Saxophone on Monday. I took the Sax to Steve on Tuesday and he worked me in and got all the dents removed and went through the Sax thoroughly replacing parts as needed making it play like it never has before. He got it back to me on Thursday afternoon so my daughter could play in an event Friday. Thanks again Steve.. I would recommend Steve to anyone needing instrument repair. "My daughter's oboe had something go wrong on a Tuesday before an Honor Band outing. Oboe's are incredibly finicky, and there are precious few people willing to work on them. We took it to Steve just before 6 p.m. on Tuesday night. He tinkered with it, confirmed there was a problem, and said he'd work on it the next day. By 6p.m. on Wednesday he had fixed the big issue, found and fixed a few smaller issues, tested it, and gotten us back the oboe. My daughter's eyes lit up when she got a little practice in, saying the whole oboe was playing much better. The man may not be magic, but he's magical with instruments. We have a couple clarinets and a trumpet in the house, he will be our go to for any and all instrument issues and tune-ups going forward. Even better, he's a local, small business/craftsmen, and I'd rather support him than a big box store. Finally, he charged us less to fix my daughter's oboe than a big box music store charged to unstick a trumpet tuning slide. Collins Hornworks is in the Oak Mountain/Indian Springs Village area, which is convenient for us, but if it was my choice, I'd absolutely travel to have work done by Steve on any instrument I value and he's willing to look at."
