We stayed with HDP even when we moved from Noblesville to Zionsville because of the compassionate, thorough care all three of our children have received from Dr. Boyce. Our kids trust him because he is a great listener and puts them at ease with his respectful demeanor and candor. As parents, we have learned a lot from Dr. Boyce as he patiently takes the time to help us understand any issues and the treatments he recommends. "You won’t find a better pediatrician than Dr. Harper in this state. He is great with twins, singletons, babies and older kids. He is a dad himself and not only is this doctor very intelligent and seasoned, but he is kind, and gentle. He knows how to educate older children on things too."

"I hate to write this review, but I feel I need to. I had a terrible experience with Dr Boyce. Based on his recommendations to me in the hospital with my newborn son (my firstborn), I was not able to breastfeed my son for the first month of his life. I thankfully got a different pediatrician who IS breastfeeding friendly and, along with other lactation consultants, was able to get back on track to breastfeeding him until 9 months old. This was 2 years ago. However, my friend who had a baby this spring had the SAME experience with Boyce, and it completely threw her off of breastfeeding altogether. Not all doctors are breastfeeding friendly, and based on two experiences, I do not believe he is. He also has a very cold bedside manner. When as a new mom dealing with complications in the hospital with my son I was very emotional, I got only blank stares from him. We had bad experiences here and particularly with Dr Boyce, although he may be better with older kids, but it worries me for new parents who may go to him based on positive reviews and experience the same thing. My advice to new parents: do pediatrician interviews BEFORE you deliver and make sure, absolutely sure, that you connect well with that doctor, because you will be seeing a lot of them over the first couple of years, and also ask friends personally for recommendations. I rarely write negative reviews, instead preferring to err on the side of giving the business or person the benefit of the doubt. However, who you choose as a pediatrician can greatly affect your confidence and your child’s health, and with two nearly identical experiences between my friend and I, I feel compelled to share our experience."
