"I tell buddy on the phone what I want to get replaced, and he tries to trick me into doing an inspection with the shop so I would owe them an additional $200+…I politely declined, saying I would prefer to just get the parts I need replaced. He proceeds to tell me the job can’t be done until next week(I called on a Monday at 1). Perhaps if you stopped stealing peoples money with these scams you would be able to complete more repairs."
"I’ve been trying all Ford service locations to find one that’s adequate. They serviced my wife’s car which is still under warranty and I was less than impressed. They did the oil change, tire rotation, “inspection”, and one of two recalls. But I marked the tires prior to dropping it off and they were not in fact rotated, I marked them because one tire has trouble holding air over a weeks time. And when I got in it the tire pressure light was on for the low tire. So I don’t believe they verified tire pressure like the receipt they gave me said they did. So it’s safe to assume they didn’t check fluid levels, brakes, or anything else they specified on the receipt. They had the vehicle three days because one of the warranty’s took a little longer to fix. The communication was also less adequate than I expected, because I asked them about two other things to check when I dropped it off, and they made a note of it on the sheet but never addressed it when I picked up the vehicle. I gave them 2 stars because they are better than the Tuscaloosa Location but that’s a low bar regardless. I bought the vehicle at Stivers of Birmingham and was impressed with the sales staff, but the Service side of Stivers is very underwhelming."
"Took months to get my truck fixed, ended up being an alternator/battery issue. They tried to tell me I’d be better off buying a new vehicle from them. I spent most of this time without a courtesy vehicle, not knowing what was happening and waiting days for them to return phone calls."
"I need to give credit where credit is due. I posted a review last weekend about a disappointing experience in the service department. I was contacted on Monday by Stivers and asked to share my experience. They listened and did not try to make excuses. They offered to send a mobile service technician to my workplace and take care of the recall items for me. The technician was prompt and friendly, and took care of the work, as promised. Kudos to Stivers for listening to my concerns, not making excuses, and working to resolve the issue. Great job on the follow through! You have earned my business back."
"Bought a car over the internet. Poor communication throughout the deal ... had multiple people contacting me - couldn't give me a straight answer or even an answer to basic questions ... had a manager who I never spoke to send me a rude email about discounts - never once talked to the guy. Buying the car over the internet I asked the dealer to send a walk around video of the car - in the video of the car the dealer said the car was in great shape and had no paint issues - the car had a big spot of clear coat missing large scratches and faded paint where stickers were on the car. As expected the dealer wouldn't take money off for the issues. Had the car been closer to home I would have walked away but due to limited availability of the car and the distance to get the car i still purchased it.. After purchasing the car - wasn't even 20 minutes down the road and the "fully inspected vehicle" had 3 dash lights pop on."
