"Customer Beware, Needing a dryer vent installed at my house, (the existing one was run into the foundation and broken), I shopped around Columbus and settled on Weathers AC. I had heard good things about them from coworkers and read the overall positive reviews here on Google. The price I was quoted for install was 1480 dollars, yes that's right, 1480 dollars to install a dryer supplemental fan, (as pictured), and several sections of piping in the attic space as well as an external vent port. Weathers sent over 2 young individuals for the install that took approximately 2 hrs. and 45 mins. Breakdown is as follows, parts were 880 dollars, and labor for the job was 600 dollars, again for a job that took less than 3 hours. I called Weathers and spoke to several managers about the ridiculous cost of the labor charges. Here's the rub. Weathers charges a flat rate for labor, meaning the same cost will apply if the job takes 5 mins or 5 hours, which looking back now, should be something anyone who is reading this should be aware of. I was told that, "it's the things the customers don't see that warrants the high cost, from picking up their work truck, to picking up parts, to driving to your property, etc. etc." Uh huh...what really rubbed me was when the guy I talked to made the off hand remark of, "Well it's costing me money talking to you on the phone right now." That phrase right there should be an alarm for anyone wishing to do business with Weathers or attempting to resolve an issue with them. It is unprofessional and shows the utter contempt for their customer base. To top this lovely sandwich off, I had to have them come back out to my house 2 additional times to fix what they screwed up from the initial install. When I inquired about getting my bill adjusted for this inconvenience I was again told that, "yeah but we don't charge anything additional for sending them back out there, so that's on us." So no, they wouldn't work with me for the inconvenience or the fact I had to take off work twice to let them in to fix their mistakes. I've included pictures of my lovely install and to be honest the entire job could be tackled by anyone with basic tools and a sense of direction. My recommendation is call around, get firm quotes, ask questions, and if you ever hear any business say they charge a flat rate, or refuse to work with you to resolve an issue such as mine, run...don't walk away from them."
