"i honestly would not consider coming to this practice if I were seeking treatment dr Valena is constantly an hour and a half late on appointments or just dosent show up at all and expects you to just be ok with that but if you did that as a patient you get an up charge for no 24 hour notice I also remember being a 16 year old child seeing dr. Teague and him verbally screaming at me over touching a hole in his chair so I abruptly ended the appointment not even 10 minutes in and I told him I would not accept him as my provider for him to tell me he didn’t need me as a patient I’ve never had such a health professional talk to me in such an awful manner and to make it worse I was a very emotional underage child I don’t I’m sure that the reason he has a 5 star review on the internet is because he bully’s his patients into being quite I was also under doctor Valencia’s care as a child in inpatient hospitalization. Where barbaric physically punishments where used on underage children some as young as I was at 11 years of age I would never consider taking my child here if my son needed medical aid bassed on my own experience"
"This isn’t so much professional psychiatric medical practice. It’s more like going to the circus where the clowns are at the front desk treating all patrons of the circus equally rude and think their job is to be a wall between the performers (treatment people) and the paying customers. For some reason this tiny practice has a “CEO,” which is the biggest stretch of a title I have ever heard. She is the chief clown (no offense to Chief clowns), whose job it is to explain away customer concerns as invalid or non-existent, making them feel just a little crazier than before they spoke to this person. I have no idea what she does for real, other than again, to stand as a wall between the practitioners and customers. I do have to say Deana is wonderfully empathetic and helpful, but she has limited hours and THEY HAVE NO BACK-UP SYSTEM IN PLACE when your specific provider is not there. So, if you have a bad reaction to a medication or need help for any other reason, the medical staff will not back each other up, like what every other medical practice in the world does. In conclusion, if you like chaos, and are 100% certain you will never need any mental, medical or prescription help outside the part-time hours of your provider, this could be the right place to trust your mental health to, as long as you are ok with the guards at the front desk that require you to describe in detail, “What’s the issue?” if you call needing to talk to your provider. If it’s convenient, they might go ask the provider the question for you in their own words and call you back a few days later with a few word response from your provider. If you then have a follow-up question, prepare for a frustrated reaction and repeating the process all over again. I feel the need to apologize if I have offended any circus workers or clowns in the course of this posting. I did not mean to offend you by comparing you to the office of Dr. Valena, MD."
"Cathy up front was sharing personal information with a random women in the waiting area about my husband. I always thought it was pretty much understood you’re not supposed to be giving other patients out information."
"*Update* Dr. Jeffries was professional and knowledgeable. He explained both my and my daughter's ADHD diagnosis thoroughly and answered any questions we had. I ended up transferring my medication management to my PCP. Dr. Valena was also very knowledgeable and gave me a basic understanding of how the medication works and the different types. Ultimately, it was too difficult to get in for an appointment (scheduled way out) and half of the time my appointment was canceled same day (to then be rescheduled a month out). Still grateful for the diagnosis and the initial help with medication management."
"First: all of the providers OTHER than Dr. Valena are pretty great. I like the front office staff as well. I see a therapist in this office as does my daughter. This review is focused on Valena herself. My daughter needed medication management and because I see a therapist in this office I thought it would be convenient. This woman is the most unprofessional medical provider I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. Our first appointment went ok. The second appointment, half an hour AFTER the appointment is supposed to have started, she texts the front office to say she will be late. Now, the reviews I had seen said she is terrible about being timely but that it was because she spends extra time with patients. I was willing to deal with that. However, we were THE FIRST appointment of the day! I witnessed her do this to a young lady yesterday as well but when she showed up, instead of getting to work, she wanted a member of the front office staff to come outside to look at her new car. Who does this? Meanwhile, the girl waiting to see her was crying. Avoid this woman. The other providers in her office are amazing. She needs to get it together."
