"One of the worst providers I have ever come across. When I was pregnant with twins and pushed out of our midwifery, we landed with her. At our first visit- 12 week prenatal visit- she started talking about birth control. We told her we do not use birth control and were not interested. I had to ask her to stop her sales pitch FOUR times before she would stop talking about it. I later told her that we would be testing my husbands blood type before considering rhogam, and she said “well we recommend it because we never know who the father is.” This was during 2021, and she also pushed wearing a mask. Thankfully the covid vaccine wasn’t really out yet because I am sure she would have pushed that as well. She made some sort of comment about how dangerous getting covid would be, and I had to wear a mask at all times. This provider does not take time to get to know her patients or come alongside them. I am so thankful we fired her. There is absolutely no way I would have let her come near me when I had delivered my twins simply due to her bedside manner and her disrespect of our family. Looking back, I am afraid I potentially would have ended up with an unnecessary c section because she was so clinical and medical. Simply having twins does not make a mother high risk, and we had a perfectly healthy pregnancy and delivery. My values and beliefs were not respected, and I would never recommend her as a care provider. I am so thankful we ended up somewhere else and I’ve been able to go onto have an out of hospital birth experience a year after delivering my twins. Something I potentially would not have achieved had I stayed with her and ended up with a c section."

"Dr. Ertel is the best physician to ever treat me. I recommend her to every woman I know still living in Indianapolis. Not only is she an expert in her field, but she’s an effective communicator, taking the time to listen and answer questions. Her medical expertise, paired with her ability to speak plainly and lead with empathy, elevate her above her peers. We need more docs like Dr. Ertel!"

"If I could leave 0 stars I would. In June of the 2014, my mother went in for a routine hysterectomy. While in Dr.Ertel's care, she had her bowels punctured 3 times. Then, they called in 5 specialists to cut out these adhesions out on her intestines and had a fistula that didn't heal. She had 2 more surgeries after that to try to heal the fistula. The third surgery killed her. I said goodbye to my mother while she was on a ventilator. She won't get to see me in my wedding dress, because of this woman. She took my mother away from me. She never went to see my mother or seemed to care."

"Dr. Ertel called to see if I could come in early the day of my appointment for an ultrasound because of a cyst on my ovary. She thought it was more serious than what was stated in the CT scan report. I was in pain, scared, etc...and she and her staff comforted me and confirmed I was ok. I had undergone a partial hysterectomy and a bowel resection years prior that I had complications from including a fistula. She cleared me of any new fistula and treated a bladder/kidney issue and I felt better. Her office called to check on me a week later too."
