"Objective Comment Overall I'd say Indy Translation & Language is a pretty solid resource for those looking to actually learn another language. Generally speaking, it is very difficult to find locations (in the US) like this one that provide language classes (with such a diverse selection) to the general public. Most resources (especially for languages other than Spanish/English) are either college or online courses; so Indy translation center wholeheartedly fills a desirable niche. Prior to enrolling, I had done approximately 6 months of self study with にほんご. After enrolling I definitely noticed improvement with my listening and speaking skills, which can be quite often neglected when using only textbooks or online resources by themselves. Additionally I do want to state that these classes are oriented towards working adults, so scheduled classes are typically held in the later afternoon/evening (5~9pm). The price range for group classes is also reasonable for most working adults. Ultimately, I'd say Indy Translation and Language Center is definitely a "diamond in the rough" as being an affordable (yet effective) place to learn another language. I'd definitely recommend the location to anyone in the greater Indianapolis area who is legitimately curious about learning another language. TLDR: 5 Stars Subjective While I do see Indy Translation & Language as a good resource, I do want to preface that just like any resource it should be used in tandem with others to maximize ones ability to pick-up and retain knowledge of another language. Typically group classes (which is what I've been enrolled in) meet once a week for approximately 2 hours. I see these classes as a great opportunity to practice listening, speaking, and to ask insightful questions. However, I will say to fully maximize your in classroom time I definitely advise spending a few hours outside of the classroom each week reading a textbook, writing, or listening to some audio. Most classes (from my experience) are usually about 3-6 students in size, and will tend to move at the pace of the class as a whole. Typically this means that those who spend time outside of class will begin to move at a much more rapid pace than those who only attend the once weekly 2 hour class sessions. This can be both a good and a bad thing. Specifically for those classes that are more communal and tend to have study groups (or people who spend a fair amount of time studying) will move rapidly through the material, and will tend to maximize the in classroom time each week. Conversely, those who don't spend much time will typically slow the pace of the class. This is not intended to be a criticism, but more so to emphasize that good team building in the classroom can go a long way to help everyone progress at a fast rate. Overall, I am personally pleased with the classes offered at the Indy Language & Translation center and again would strongly advise anyone seriously interested in learning another language (especially working age adults who feel that they may not have the time) to give it a shot. I apologize for writing a masters thesis in this review, but hopefully this ultimately helps someone."

"Carolina has been an excellent teacher and a resource for the entire class. She has a passion for teaching and brings that energy to every class. Carolina has a great sense of how quickly to move the class forward and when to review. During each class she steps away from the book to bring real-world signing exercises into play. She explains the origin of the signs which help the students connect them to memory and shows the differences between the book signs and how they are updated in today's language culture. I'm hopeful there will be a ASL #2 class to continue our learning."

"I was very pleased with the excellent instructor I had for my french classes. She was a native speaker, extensive knowledge in education and multiple languages. I feel she was very patient and explained the why and how of grammar necessary for speaking and reading the language. She patiently corrected my pronunciation and helped me to gain confidence in speaking french as well as adding vocabulary. The office staff were helpful and very nice. I would recommend the Indy Translation and Language Center very highly."
