"I would not recommend Cicero pool and spa. Here’s why: I bought my house ~7 years ago that had an in ground pool. The previous owner used Cicero pool and spa exclusively and so we followed suit with pool openings, closings, repairs, ect. Cicero pool and spa was bought out at some point in the last year or so and is under new ownership however it’s still under the same name “Cicero pool and spa servicing the same customer base, operating under the same roof, it’s the same company. About 2 years ago our pool pump went out so we had them come out to assess and replace. Their recommendation was to replace with the same pump we had. They assured us Hayward super pump was a good name and lasted 5-10 years. 2 weeks ago When they came out to assess this pump they said the pump is fried and I should have replaced it with a variable speed pump. They proceeded to tell me the pump they recommended 2 years ago is junk and should have never been considered as a replacement. This is the same pump they initially installed for the original homeowner many years ago, and for me just 2 seasons ago based on their recommendation. I’ve since had another company out to provide another opinion and they believe the pump was installed improperly, failed prematurely, and was installed unprofessionally. See attached pictures of exposed wires. All said Cicero pool is wiping their hands of this situation, taking no responsibility or offering any sort of assistance with a premature failure. My expectation is they’d offer a discounted on the pump or their labor for this install or an extended warranty to offer some piece of mind on my end. I will note the replacement pump cost for variable speed between Cicero and the other company are about the same."

"Our family always trys to buy Locally. I understand I'll pay more and willing to pay 15-20% more for the same products. I recently bought some hot tub chemicals at this business and thought at the time it seemed excessive so thought I'd check online for a comparison. Boy was I shocked! I did bring the cost difference to the owners attention but he didn't care and said that's what he charges. I was courteous but still shocked at the difference in the exact same product. $36 vs $60 is a huge difference! Just an FYI"
