Oaklawn

"My roommate/client has been going to Oaklawn for atleast 5 years. I've gone with him several times and all they do is write him.refills for his meds. I asked if they could get him into counseling With a psychiatrist. And the nurse practioner who refills his meds called me at home and basically told me to mind my own business and she didn't think he needed therapy. My friend/ client lives with me And is diagnosed by Oaklawn as Schizophrenic. He's attacked me repeatedly, tears up my home and my belongings when he doesn't get his way recently he was arrested for stabbing me in the neck with a fork. I spoke to Oaklawn about this and other incidents and they still just refill his meds and send him home. Shortly afterwards they sent him a letter dismissing him from their care, so currently he has no meds nor any way to aquire them. In my opinion from my observations and interactions with Oaklawn that they appear to be nothing more than a pill mill."

"Two things I've heard while trying to better myself with this institution: 1. "You've already tried all the therapy we provide, and I'm not sure anything we can offer that will help." 2. "Since you missed your intake appointment by ten minutes, we will have to reschedule you out for a couple of months." This happened four times while seeking help for my inability to organize myself and make appointments."

"Shane doesn’t answer texts or calls. It’s his only job. To help people like me. I have never in my life been a part of such a dereliction of duty. I wouldn’t recommend this facility to my worst enemy."

"Update if you care at all about your well-being this is NOT the place to go. Therapist will discriminate because you are poor. Mine did ..Her Name Sarah ... if you have her as a Therapist you better not be poor, n you better have a ride or she will drop you. Her friend boss Emily called me with no resolution. They have blood on their hands. Cause if they are doing this to me they are doing this to other people and that's not healing. This place is very much the problem. not a solution I hope and pray whoever is reading this do not waste your energy on this forsaken place. I put my faith n energy in my healing...just to be played by my therapist n her supervisor Brenda . They don't care.. epworth staff is cold. No questions answered cold tone..no one there cares whatsoever. Soulless people..trying to help those who have souls ...not a good combination. And that is what you call Oaklawn.."

"I have a lot of good things to say about this place. I've been coming here since I was a young boy going into my teenage years and I'm still going now as a adult now. The environment here is love and care for what you come in here to get treated or help with. I've never had a bad experience here and always been respected and cared for beyond what these professional people can do. I love this place for support and truly appreciate and respect everyone here helping us with battles of everyday life. Thank you all. And I recommend treatment here for people struggling with anything."
