Reviews of Reserve at Dawson's Creek Apartments
"The requested maintenance has not yet been completed. The maintenance crew responded quickly to my request for repair of a squeaky clothes dryer. But they couldn't fix it and so opted to get me a new dryer, the delivery and installation of which I'm still awaiting. Overall, however, I'm very happy with how the rental and maintenance staff treat me here at The Reserve. And I'm happy with the work the maintenance crews have done for me."
"The apartments aren’t bad, but luxury is overselling them. These are old units and have been given a fresh coat of paint. It shows. My unit had a bunch of issues with it, the thermostat was an old model using a mercury tube, so heating and cooling were a nightmare. The carpet in my second bedroom was too small for the room so the threshold had sharp points that were constantly stabbing my feet. There were weird smells every night around 10pm that smelled of decay, and the walls have hardly insulation so a loud neighbor is a nightmare. There’s more but tldr this place is way overpriced for the unit you get. It’s buoyed heavily by location."
"We’ve been living here for just over a month. I would have to agree with the person that said they are nicer upon the first visit than they actually are. I wish I would’ve paid more attention to the details during the walk through, but we were in a hurry to find something before our lease was up. If I had known how much cleaning I would have to do after being told the apartment would be cleaned upon move in I would’ve reconsidered moving here. Pros: Maintenance seems to respond to request fairly quickly. The office is polite and responsive as well. Nice neighborhood and seems safe. Cons: Lazy repairs such as rusted vents that were painted over and of the course with the humidity from showers, began to rust again. “Luxury” vinyl flooring lifting and peeling in multiple areas. The apartment was filthy upon move in. Pet hair caked around and inside the fire place. Pet hair and what looked like cat food in the coat closet. There was so much pet/human hair painted over it was ridiculous! The walls, doors, base boards, window seals, and corners of the room! Dead gnats in the refrigerator. The dishwasher had mold in the filter and maintenance supposedly ordered new parts, but after following up several times since move in, it is going on 5 weeks without being able to use our dishwasher. I expect to be able to use ALL amenities included in my rent. Medicine cabinet had what looked like insect eggs on top and was disgusting on the inside. My mop water was black! The second bedroom has an odor and I’m sure the carpets were not thoroughly cleaned. I wish I would’ve taken more before and after pictures after 3 days of deep cleaning because the ones I have don’t do it justice. I’m familiar with having to do a light cleaning when moving into a new apartment, but this was on a different level due to pure laziness. Overall these apartments are not terrible, but I’m disappointed in the quality for the price we are paying. Even if it was just the previous tenants, it was the apartments responsibility to clean and make sure everything was up to par for living. I know the cost of living is expensive everywhere right now, but if I were you I would think twice before considering these “luxury” apartments and paying the price."
"We lived here for a year and it was a decent complex, the maintenance crew was pleasant but seemed overworked, and several of the things we requested help with never actually got fixed. They just came by and put in stopgaps that didn’t actually address the root cause of our issues. Also, there were lots of firetrucks and police coming in and out of the complex at all hours. Overall it was a good place to live, but it seems nicer on first visit than it really is to live there, especially for the price point. We had better experiences with complexes in Michigan that cost several hundred less per month, but it was good enough for the year we were there."
"This is a really good place to live. I do have some minor complaints, but overall a solid apartment. First, the pros: I like that it's safe, heavily sound-proofed, has a half basketball court, dog park, river walkway, and pool. The neighbors seem pretty cool, nice, respectable. It's close to the YMCA and Kroger, so most of our needs are met. The staff is kind. No woke garbage being shoved down my throat (had that experience at a previous apartment). It's pretty quiet here. My neighbor said he had a party when he first moved in and I couldn't hear a thing, even though we share a wall. Most people who live here are raising children or around that age and older. It's cozy. They won't nickel & dime you for every little thing, in fact, they leave us entirely alone when it comes to financing, and I've had no surprise payments or anything. For the cons: The AC and heater is kind of loud. Not deafening, but it was distracting when I first moved in. The pool is ice cold - which is probably fine for some people. And the final issue, which is true for all apartments in nice neighborhoods right now - it's expensive. It's been worth it though, so I don't regret it at all. Overall: I'd give this place a 4.7/5 if I could be more specific."
