"My son and I have been going to this practice for a little over 3 years. We normally see one specific doctor, but my son needed to get in quickly for a sports physical for school, so he saw Dr. Afsari. That was a BIG MISTAKE! The office scheduled the appointment as a well child visit and a sports physical. Which was fine, as he needed a physical anyway. My son is 13, and is already 6 feet tall. Dr. Afsari said now was a good time to get blood work done to check levels, and kidney function, and asked if this was ok. We both agreed to the blood work. The nurse just called me and told me the blood work was actually ordered due to my son's high BMI! One, the BMI scale is an extremely antiquated scale that should not be used in the medical field at all, two he had not fasted so he had had breakfast and lunch when this blood work was taken. The nurse called to tell me basically how awful his blood work results were, but when looking at them on the patient portal, and were ALL in normal range or barely over the range. Had I been told what the blood work would ACTUALLY be looking at I would not have agreed, since he had already eaten that day, and I know the results will be inaccurate. I will never allow my son to see this doctor again, and we will go back to seeing our regular doctor. Being lied to by a doctor is NEVER ok, especially when it comes to what will be done to your CHILD!"
