"Super nice people."
"Over priced, hallways kinda ghetto"
"Better than I would have thought. The apartments range in size from a one bedroom up to three bedroom units. The flooring (at least in ours) is a dark laminate in all rooms including the bathrooms and kitchen. There is plenty of closet space, outlets, and even cordless blinds, a sizable water heater, and pretty good appliances. Rents are market rate and far from expensive (for the area and available jobs) with a three bedroom units coming in at $1090 per month. If you don't need three bedrooms there are certainly less expensive places around but three bedroom apartments are few and usually get snatched up quickly (from Vincennes all the way to Henderson). As to the one remark about these apartments not being near a train. The area is full of trains and railway fans, hence the name. You will hear the train whistles from the tracks that are a 15 minute walk west of the apartments. (PS there's a lovely family owned Thai restaurant down there with some pretty solid Pad Thai). What you will, however, hear is the highway traffic from Route 41 that runs right beside the apartments. Thankfully there is a bit of a hill and some trees between us and the busy roadway. (I'm judging the noise by a first floor apartment- I don't know how it is for the second and third floors.) I thought when we moved I'd be giving up all the wildlife in my former house's garden but that's far from the case. There are groundhogs, loads of rabbits, many species of birds (including the Killdeer which are protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act in the United States), and some of the biggest frogs we've yet run across in the pond on the northeast of the complex. That is also where you will find a deck overlooking said pond and a small grilling area. The complex is also right beside Fort Branch's only school so if you have children who are publicly schooled, the location is ideal. Fort Branch itself is a small town of roughly 3,000 people with the atmosphere of The Andy Griffith show. It has no grocery store (save the Dollar General beside the apartments that actually has a rather wide variety of fresh produce) so you will have to commute if you want something more than basics. It's a quick jaunt north up to Princeton (a town of 8000) or with a slightly longer drive in the opposite direction you have Evansville with over 100,000 and all the amenities you would expect from a larger city. As far as amenities in Fort Branch? They're few. You can catch a ballgame at the (rather extensive) local park, take a long walk (the area is dead safe and bucolic and if you're a forager there are some hidden gems), or order a pizza from Sandy's. There is a Donut Depot for your sweet tooth, a local bar, and a small but serviceable library. The post office is also a short ways on foot. As to the people? Well, you always get the occasional argument but we were blessed with quiet, considerate neighbors who are rather personable. No arguments over parking spaces (they're not assigned and parking is plentiful), there isn't trash scattered about, and most of the tenants work at the local manufacturing facilities so there doesn't appear to be much mischief. The grounds are also quite well lit to discourage such things. A caveat: There is a fitness center right beside the mailroom and the common area/office. There is a recumbent stationary bike, an elliptical, a treadmill, one bench, and an assortment of dumbbells. It's enough to get a basic, old school workout in. Office staff is pleasant, maintenance is prompt, and the grounds crew keeps the place tidy. I have only one complaint and really it has more to do with the people rather than the apartment company. The garbage areas will sometimes see bags of refuse all over even when there is room in the dumpsters. Also, large items will be left out and the trash removal crew left those items for weeks. It's pure laziness on both sides but that's (unfortunately) a common thing. Same with the frog pond. The amount of litter floating about is a shame."
"No train station anywhere near here, much less actual passenger service. Highly misleading name."
"Nice new apartments! Still adding new buildings, growing quickly!"
