"When I walked into the lobby, I was expecting to have to wait a reasonable amount of time to have my plumbing issues fixed (bad diverter in guest shower and toilet not flushing main bathroom). I was thinking a few days seemed a reasonable time to wait. Within A FEW HOURS of putting in the request, Paul showed up like a miracle worker. Quick, efficient, and didn't make me feel stupid for asking (really stupid) questions! I'm very grateful and VERY impressed with Cityway and their maintenance personnel!"
"I had an unpleasant experience at this apartment. It's overpriced, and neighboring apartments offer better amenities. Here are some concerns: 1. Discovered an almost $700 overcharge, highlighting the importance of vigilant financial monitoring. 2. Dealt with a rodent issue due to trash, as mentioned in reviews. Rats and cockroaches are everywhere. Yes the pictures of rats in reviews are 100% true. 3. Cheaper apartments are in the older buildings, hence, frequent maintenance calls, with flooding incidents. Myself and my neighbors have dealt with flooded apartments. 4. Misleading information about rooftop accessibility – limited to residents in the tallest building. 5. Experienced multiple late-night fire alarms lasting 30 minutes. 6. Front desk consistently unresponsive, even observed them ignoring calls. 7. Retrieving my deposit was challenging, I had to fly to Indianapolis. These people never mailed it nor were they responsive. Consider exploring more affordable and satisfactory options in downtown Indy."
"I have lived at CityWay for more than three years in two different apartments. I am posting today related to the maintenance service I have received from both Ashton & Paul. They do their very best to be responsive with what maintenance projects need to be addressed in my apartment and go the extra mile. Full disclosure, this has not always been the case regarding the maintenance team but the current group is on it and it is much appreciated! I also appreciate Matt in the leasing office. He is always friendly, responsive and helpful. In the past, I have had a lot of challenges with residents not keeping their dogs on a leash. I stopped mentioning it to the residents because a few would respond very rudely when I politely & calmly called them out. I tried reaching out to the leasing office and it seemed like they were more concerned with making sure pet waste was picked up versus ensuring the safety of its residents and their pets. Please know this issue is almost two years old now but if you are considering moving to CityWay and have a pet, I would ask the question about their leash policy enforcement. Finally, my biggest issue is with our package delivery process. Particularly the Amazon Prime drivers. I know they have challenges with their role for sure but I have had packages left right on the stairs off of Virginia Avenue, so anyone walking by on the street can just grab it and go. I know Matt has reached out to our Amazon contact, to no avail."
"Wow, where do I even begin with this place? There are so many complaints it's hard to keep track. Honestly, this has been the worst apartment we've ever lived in, hands down. First off, the apartment was just plain nasty when we arrived. The toilet was seriously gross, and the bedroom rug had lots of stains. Plus, it was covered in black hairs and dust. The kitchen cabinets were also dirty. Then there were the ongoing sink and dishwasher issues that lasted over 10 months. The sink kept clogging, and the dishwasher just refused to run. We put in maintenance requests, but it felt like nobody cared. Our place smelled terrible because of this, and we couldn't cook at home for days on end. They always sent someone to "fix it," but within several days, it clogged again. This went on for a whole 10 months, and nobody seemed to give a darn. We weren't even at fault since we didn't use grease, and we weren't meat eaters. This had never happened to us in past apartments. When we first moved in, the fridge was louder than a rock concert, and it couldn't even make ice. We submitted maintenance requests, but the building's management, to put it nicely, was awful. It took a painful two months for them to sort it out. In the winter, mold near the windows became a regular thing. They got wet often, and those water drops led to mold growth. We even spotted a dead mouse in the hallway, which was pretty unsettling. Come summer, and we were swarmed by these enormous flies. I lived in Georgia before, and I've never seen anything like it in any other building. The mail room was just chaotic. It took us hours to find our packages, and some never turned up. It's like they threw everything in there and hoped for the best. Billing was another headache. They tried to charge us for parking fees because we didn't give a 30-day notice that we wouldn't be using the parking anymore. The thing is, they never mentioned a 30-day notice, and it wasn't in the lease. In the end, they only charged us for three days of parking, but they initially wanted to bill us for the entire month. Oh, and don't get me started on the AC. It was beyond loud, and it couldn't cool the place for the life of it. Even with the AC on the coldest setting, we were very hot at night. I could go on and on with complaints about this place. Seriously, do yourself a favor and don't even think about signing a lease here."
"This is the worst apartment complex I have ever lived in. The interior of CityWay apartments are nice and I enjoy the layout of my apartment. However this property is badly managed. You will see rats in the lobby, trash in the hallways everyday and I don’t mean a bottle out here and there, I mean piles of trash as if you live in a dump. You will also be charged many hidden service fees including a trash fee which is ridiculous due to how poorly managed that service is. When making the decision to move here, it would be wise to tack on about $210 to your projected budget for rent not including internet. When making maintenance requests, you will not be told or given notice when someone enters your home. I have mentioned that I would like to be given a notice whenever a property employee enters my home but this was another request ignored. There was also an instance where the ceiling opened up in my bathroom making it unusable for a week. As a result I was forced to live with large fans on in my apartment for several days. No efforts were made by staff to remedy this situation. Finally, and probably most frustrating, the office makes attempts to be friendly but refuses to get things done. I have mentioned these issues to the staff but instead of making efforts to fix it, they are more focused on inflating their reviews by asking individuals that do not live here to write a review. This property is built along a train track so consider this if you value peace and quiet. The location of this place is good if you work downtown but when considering the price of rent and then the value of service provided it would be in your best interest to look elsewhere."
