"It was 4 years before that so called "doctor" ever put a stethoscope on me! Worthless primary care physician. Now that MHP accepts VA patients I use their priority care. That or Wakeman or Roudebush. Worthless"
"Worst VA experiences (PLURAL) in my life. My PA was TRASH. 1: I requested a sleep test for sleep apnea and was laughed out of the building. They ordered one after arguing with me over it. Which then, made me feel as if I didn’t deserve nor need a test. So I chose to cancel the appointment in hopes to avoid more ridicule for being wrong.Few years later I decided to go ahead and have one taken in another clinic… confirmed sleep apnea. 2: Broke an ankle and repeatedly told my PA and physical therapist about reoccurring pain that would not go away. After 3 attempts at physical therapy and imagery denials , I decided to once again go to a different VA and get some imagery done. Behold! Yet again… bone fragments and cartilage needing surgically removed from my ankle to make a full recovery. 3: I walk in with extreme pain around my groin area and tell my PA that I believed i had a hernia. After scoffing to herself and touching the area, my Pa concluded there was nothing wrong with me. After another scuffle between us, she allowed me to see a surgeon for a second opinion. The surgeon not only concluded I had a hernia. But I had TWO. Not only did she miss the one hernia. But she missed two of them. And laughed at me multiple times. I know people that lose their jobs for lacking people skills. I know people that lose their jobs for being terrible at their job. But this is the first time I’ve seen someone hold such a vital position in a clinic while sucking at both. This happened to me over 5 years ago and not a week goes by that I STILL don’t think about it."
"Had my first appt Feb 25th. Could not understand half of what doctor said. Did not agree with her take on the amount of insulin I should take. She just talked about meds never mentioned or asked about the 21 days I spent in the hospital for covid/Pnuemonia. Will be returning to Roudebush and Dr. Shah"
"I visited the Shelbyville Clinic today to see if they could assist me in establishing enrollment in the system after a poor assistance at the Roudebush facility. Service was outstanding. There was a genuine concern and desire to help, even though not necessarily their responsibility. Amber and the rest of the office staff did their best to answer questions and get my paperwork submitted. THANK YOU Amber and her associates! I am very new to the VA system. I visited the Roudebush facility to establish initial treatment/enrollment in the system some time back. I found the employees cold, less than helpful and like I was an inconvenience. The office I was directed to had no one waiting or being assisted yet I waited for 15 to 30 minutes. The employee handed me a packet, said fill it out and return it. Told if had questions, call this number. She walked away. No other clients were waiting."
"Told the nurse that I had just been diagnosed with Prostate cancer and that I needed something to help with my mood being that I was very short tempered. His comment to me was that they do not throw medicine at every little thing and that they would make me a mental health appointment in about three weeks. Had no intentions of hurting myself but what good was an appointment in three weeks when i was asking for help now He honestly said oh well and that was the end of our conversation"
