Reviews
"Excellent service and very friendly staff and doctor. Doctor Sonya Campbell Johnson took her time in understanding my concerns. She listened and was very professional. She is very knowledgeable as well."
"It is a great place to receive dermatology services if you can tolerate support staff that is not patient-centric. The staff place you on hold when you call, are short with you at the front counter, and will turn you away in a heartbeat if you are outside of their “grace period.” After speaking with the office manager of the north side office “Dawn” today, she appears to underpin the behaviors. Everything rises and falls on leadership. Revenue must be through the roof at this practice for them to turn away patients. The support staff do not understand the correlation between patient experience and insurance revenue and how this translates to them getting paid. Again, if you can bear the blatant disrespect of support staff and poor leadership, Alexandra Short, MSPAS, PA-C, is a great provider."
"Practice is top notch. Very accommodating with our appointment today. The Dr was awesome and showed genuine concern for my daughter's concern. Her staff was friendly and made us feel welcomed. I feel really good about returning to this office."
"When you call the office, the receptionist says, Thanks for calling dermatology associates I need to place you on a brief hold." Then immediately places you on hold. I know they are busy but she should wait for the person on the other end to respond. I have been a patient of Dr. Johnson's for many years. Dr. Johnson is a good doctor. I can tell she cares about her patients. However, several of her staff members are discourteous and unprofessional. The office manager insisted that she and another employee provided information that they did not and proceeded to argue with me. I use several products from this office. It seems like when I finish one product there is another product I need to buy for the effects to last. Recently, I purchased and started using a product from the office I had never used before. They told me to use the product twice a day. I was concerned that they had not provided me with all of the information about how to properly use the product. The directions on the container simply say, "Use as directed by physician." So I waited to use the product until I could speak with the office again. I asked them if I should use sunscreen while using the product. They said I should. However, I was not told this before I purchased the product and this is not on the container. When I ran out of the product, I called the office to order more and they were out. While I was not using the product, my complexion looked worse than before I started using the product. When I told the nurse in the office about this, she told me that after I use the product I am currently using for 6 months, there is another product Dr. Johnson recommends I use."
