"I had horrible experience at this physician office. I went in for a checkup and blood was taken for lab work. Instead of coding lab work as regular check up visit it was coded as I went to emergency room and now hospital lab work was sent to is charging me $635 for lab work. If it was coded correctly my insurance company would have covered the cost. Also, when I called office to ask about lab work I was told someone should have asked me where I wanted my lab work sent to in order to be sure my insurance covered the cost. I was never asked any such thing. My insurance provider even called to ask to get the coding changed to correct information and was told unless I told the doctor or office I was there explicitly for preventative visit they code it as emergency. It is truly disappointing a doctor office would take advantage of a new patient coming to visit them in this way. I have had lan work done before and never had this issue. To even say a patient should know to say a certain thing for their lab work to be coded correctly is ridiculous."
