"Just saw the Joffrey Ballet put on the Nutcracker at the Civic Opera. It was beautiful, the costumes were beautiful. The dancing was very graceful and beautiful. The Civic Opera is a very beautiful venue. Had the opportunity to do brunch in the Blue Room on the second floor. All of the staff there are very nice and helpful. Would go there again."

"This rating is for the building and not the opera itself. It's a beautiful structure but construction is going on outside. Seating is narrow and deep which means many seats are either too close or too far back. Acoustics are fine but it can be weak towards the back of the main floor. Bathrooms are in the basement. Minimal wait for men but long lines for women. Huge lines for refreshments at intermission and lines start blocking the lobby making passage difficult."
