"It was MY surgery. And all the nurse and doctors pretended like I wasn't even there. In pre op they would only talk to my boyfriend. Wouldn't even look at me. And they don't give you a handout with instructions. They call a week before and expect you to remember it or write it down really really fast. You have to fill out a lengthy questionnaire but no packet with instructions. They just expect everyone to remember and if you don't they make you feel like an idiot."
