Canyon Inn

"The restaurant may be a decent place to dine, but not good to stay at the inn (moldy bathroom, drainage issues, run down decor,). This old historic inn is not being well maintained. Years ago, it was great - but it is not even nice to stay here now."

"Beautiful, cozy, nostalgic Inn with clean rooms, bathrooms. We spent the evening in the lodge around the fireplace watching the snowfall Feb 17. Had a real good breakfast on the porch the next morning. Relaxing time, glad this is located in wonderful Owen county."

"This place has gone down hill. The room we were given this time is very run down and poorly cleaned. There is mold in the shower, the plaster walls are cracking and crumbling, and the furniture is dated. The Bed+Breakfast package is a legitimate scam. When you book online it will say you don't owe anything,then they charge $19.50 per person per day for one breakfast meal and one (non-alcoholic) drink. Nothing on their menu adds to that combo. When asked, the staff aren't apologetic they acknowledge it sucks but don't do anything. The park is still beautiful, but the Inn isn't worth it."

"We took our daughter and son-in-law to the Canyon Inn restaurant and had a wonderful meal. We wanted something different than our regular choices and they did not disappoint us. Not one issue with anything!!! Food was very good and great service by our waitress Rhonda. It's a great place to get away from our regular eating places on Friday nights. They had a wonder buffet with chicken and even corn dogs for kids, really good cheesy tater tots, tasty green beans, corn, soup and salad bar, and apple crisp for dessert. It was a reasonable price for really good food and the package deal included a fountain drink or tea. It's not a place we normally think of eating out but it's definitely going to be an option from now on. Nice crowd and beautifully decorated for Christmas. Put them on your weekend list. This was a special event but I'm sure the food on the menu is just as good. Atmosphere was very pleasant, music wasn't too loud and neither was the restaurant crowd. Great for a relaxing evening with friends or family. We will be back for sure. Try them out, you won't be disappointed."

"The Canyon Inn is an historic hotel for guests of McCormick’s Creek State Park and offers modest accommodations in a lovely, wooded setting. The banquet hall is popular for weddings with a rustic, rural setting. The Inn’s restaurant features a traditional American down-home menu. There’s also an outdoor pool and recreation center on-site. The Inn’s lobby has just one, tiny, old TV in the corner, but you didn’t come to stay inside and watch commercials anyway, so bring your hiking boots, a flannel hoodie, and start hiking a trail."
