"You can't ask for a nicer owner and young couple managing the resort! Great location. Access to the lake is awesome! Rented a boat from the marina and was able to stop by the resort to pick up family members! The young gentleman managing the resort played outstanding music and entertained everyone on Saturday night! We couldn't have ask for nicer people. Only caveat...it is not a Hilton...it's similar to lake cottage accommodations. Modest but clean! Thanks for great family memories!"

"I am a business owner myself and I just want to say hands down customer service is amazing here. We came to visit with our grandson and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. Rooms were clean. The view and access to the lake is unbelievable. There's a fire pit docks and numerous accommodations for seating by the lake. Will definitely return and recommend to all My clients. If your visiting Monticello Andrew's Resort is the place to stay!!! Being treated well goes a very long way."

"Andrews is by far one of my most favorite places to stay! The owners are the nicest people who go above and beyond for their guests! The rooms are standard as motel rooms go. There is a mini fridge, coffee maker and microwave. The beds were comfortable and the AC kept up well in 90 degree plus weather. But seriously, I spent most of my time there on the deck rather than holed up in the hotel room. The deck has got to be the best one on Lake Shafer, hands down! There are so many sitting areas to just sit back and relax and take in the view! There is also a grilling area just off the side of the deck with a couple of grills for the guests to use! Off the deck are stairs leading down to the water! A couple of docks to tie your boat off, a fire pit area, and of course, swimming and fishing! After 3 trips I have yet to use the pool, with the lake right there! If you’re looking for just your basic chain hotel, you can find those just down the road, complete with bland rooms with beautiful views of strip malls and what not. If you’re looking for a mixture of charm and nostalgia, supporting the sweetest owners, with the best deck and view on the lake, then Andrews is your hidden little gem!!"

"Owners were very nice; I will give them that. The rooms however, were definitely not worth the asking price. Room was very outdated and unsanitary. Spider webs and wasps are all over the stairs. Very small bathroom and only a single bar of very cheap soap was provided. I would urge anyone staying here to inspect their beds carefully before laying down as some of the pillows, beneath the case, were very yellow and cigarette burns peppered the mattress. This location is within walking distance of the park which is a plus. Overall: disappointing."

"After reading the reviews and not finding room pictures, I was not so sure about booking. But after staying, I can say I am HAPPY we did! I stayed with my 2 nieces and a nephew. We had another group with us, the owners were thoughtful enough to put us right next to each other. The owners were extremely accommodating and friendly, in general. We felt welcomed. Our rooms were clean, nice size, and included a table which was very convenient - I don't believe all rooms have the table though. We had two rooms by the pool. There is another set of rooms available that have an amazing deck and view of Lake Shafer. The owner even mentioned one set of rooms that connects on the side. We be booking here again. Perks: Great customer service, Indiana beach is within walking distance (5 mins or so), pool, amazing views, great deck area (even for larger families/groups), some rooms have charcoal grills available with them Heads ups: Bring your own toiletries and coal/gasoline if you use the grill, the rooms could use updating"
